The M-17 Quad 50 cal. trailer and the Vietnam figures showed up at the Cary, NC TRU yesterday. I'm not into this weapons system or Vietnam, so I left them on the shelves.

We've only got one TRU in my immediate AO, but, so far, sooner or later, we always get the latest 21st Century offerings. I'm really liking this as visiting several Wal-Marts in my area over and over was getting old and frustrating.

Finally had the honor of finding the new cammo M-16 halftracks at the Fresno, CA TRU. I love the scheme and picked one up.

Then I had to wait in the line for 15 minutes, and there were only two people ahead of me. When the cashier disappeared to check something for one of the customers, I was a little less than pleased...

Saw the same thing at one of our TRU's with a flood of Nam guys and Quad gun trailers. There must have been 60+ guys and at least ten trailers.

Nothing around here. The Nam figures have started to show up at TRU in my AO. I picked up a few for the head sculpts, I don't collect modern.

The Clovis, CA TRU just got in the XD M-17 quad trailers. Lets see, when were those first spotted? Its a bit late as I already got one for less from BadCat, but at least the distribution thing finally went through. Hopefully that feat won't be repeated too often...

Found the 1/32nd Marder and 38t tanks but not much else at four TRU's. The only 1/18 vehicles found were one new M16 1/2 track and several Pak 40's.

Well, now that the Christmas rush has passed, it looks like the military toys weathered the storm quite well - which is not good for the timely arrival of any new releases. The military sections at both the TRUs in my town were largely unscathed, with a few more items still in the overhead bins and up on the shelf-tops. Plenty of 32x howitzers, Jagdtigers, P-51Bs, FW-190D9s, Vietnam figures, Pak-40s and Pak-40 Hannomags, with a few M17 trailers at one store and M16 Halftracks at another.

The Star Wars, wrestling, and RC toys seemed to sell better as their respective aisles were pretty picked over...

went to my nearest TRU and saw VN figs, 2 corsairs, quad trailer, pak 40 and 1:6 MG34. i'm debating on getting it. I was hoping for the quad trailer to get discounted. i still think 30 is still to much.

Different scenes at different TRUs
One There was very little military left other than some 1:32 items and weapons sets. Another store had a ton left - but they did restock on 12-22. BBI Planes and littlebirds are gone for the most part one store had about 15+ old crows - only 2 left.

This time last year - the cheap military toys all the undersize toy items were gone leaving a ton of 1:18 scale but this year - not many sold in my area - I wonder if the lead paint scare is what kept them on the shelves this chritmas -

wrestling and transformers are empty aisles and starwars - well all the expensive tru exclusives - y-wing, bantha, dagoba x-wing, are still sitting - as they did the year before - the new y-wing sits because people quickly bought that last y-wing and don't want another.

Most TRU's have heavily restocked during the last couple of days before Xmas. Unless you are checking daily you won't notice the merchandise selling. The military is usually a slow seller except the Elite Operations (TRU brand).
Unlike Walmart, Target, etc. whose toy restock is only part of a truck load, TRU has been getting deliveries almost everyday.

The 2 TRU stores in my AO, one in MO the other in AR were tapped! Plus every WM I've hit since Christmas which is quite a few, are barren of 32x planes. Uncommon for around here as military generally sits for awhile.

Went to a TRU in Walnut Creek this evening and noted the new Vietnam figures...Good thing I am not a figure collector. These things look even worse than the pictures.

On the bright spot, Big Armed TKO does have a slight resemblance to his namesake!! Zach, I hope you got a custom painted one of these.

STUKA, how much are those BBI crows going for now, is 16 enough to warrant a sale price or does full retail seem appropriate? Like others, I considered buying it until they were gone locally, of course. Morrow is a nice 40 or 50 miles from the house- Coincidentally, the TRU in buckhead found 8-10 of the BBI daisy junes to put out

They all scanned full price...I checked four of them.....

I Havnt been back there since last Friday - and wont be in that area until next week - off work this week.

I think the TRU in Fayetteville had a ton this time last year and they never went on sale - they also had a lot at the Morrow TRU last year - never ran into a sale -

Dang, your TRU actually took just a few days longer than mine  I would love to know what the holdup was all about, as by the time I found them (Dec. 24th) the trailer was already old news and I had gotten one from BadCat for cheaper. Hope the incident doesn't repeat itself, especially when the 88mm gun and Kingtiger are involved...

The 109 Seeman, 104 starfighter, and the F4 corsair (first time seeing that in a store)
BBI Planes:
17 Old crows at the $44.99 price and two Daisy Junes.

also three quad trailers and tons of 1:32 190s also the 1:48 planes are in stock.
Figure wise a ton of Dak and SS ottos nothing new.

Local TRU has newly modified isles and 21st stuff includes 1/18
Flying Undertaker
Smoke II F104
P-40 Pearl Harbor
Chinese Mig 15

1/32 and 1/44 planes - Didn't really pay attention to those or the other items for I only go after the 1/18 planes
