I got a DWK Spitfire from Foxhole Toys for $55 earlier this year. Not a bad deal considering that even then the plane was rare and now even moreso. I also have the NKK version

These still come out on e-bay every week or so. The prices are between $50 and $125. There was a time that you could not give these away. They were stacked to the ceilling at WM. Sadly those days are gone.

That will ALWAYS be the case with our hobby. It's why I always got 2 of everything. Sure, you get your glut, but I knew from the very beginning that there are would a finite number of a given plane that will be made, making them incredibly collectible.

The formula for collectability:

Realistic + inexpensive + unique + limited number produced= $$$$$$ down the line

You give these things a couple years (and we are seeing that now with some planes) and they really appreciate in value.

Well I don't know what is going on but here in the last couple of weeks I have purchased several xd planes off of ebay for what I consider cheap.

I got a NKK spit for $49.99, a Blonde Angel P47 for $39.99, a winter stuka for $50.00, and several others that I have seen go for much more in the past. I don't know if the xd market is softening up or I just got real lucky.

Either way I'm happy as a pig in **** but now I have a serious problem with space in my airplane room.

You can get more deals this time of year on ebay. The sellers needing money for Christmas and the buyers wanting to spend as little as possible this time of year.

Beautiful plane and 1/18 model to be sure.

I wish I had bought a few more.
