Our fearless leader needs your help to make a 1/18th u boat
We need some one to help him make a hull for a 1/18th U-boat made out of wood and it needs to be able to be broken down in sections to be shipped to our good leader..
What we need is a person or persons who is gifted at working with wood, any person who has skills in making flying r/c aircraft. We will need a person who has CAD expertise, and another one with expertise in making fiberglass molds
Please feel free to contact aferguson by PM to make arrangements
Lets make this happen for him, This is way too cool to let this project die.
please make this a sticky

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

I've some modeling supplies I can pass on. Small sanders, riflers, dental picks, a good sized tool box of dremel bits and wheels, even the dremel itself and, etc. I can't use these anymore, so seeing them get some use would be good.
Tanks for the memories
Your breachblocks so black
And oodles of track
Here at Grafenwoehr it's so good to be back
Oh, tanks for the memories..

Scary part is that if someone had a good blueprint to work from, most of the countours wouldn't be that hard to recreate using a wood frame and styrene plastic sheets and/or thin plywood. Some contours, hoever, would really be a pain to duplicate. But a basic subframe would be pretty easy to do with a combination of plywood sheets and stick lumber. Of course, it would probably weight a couple hundred pounds or more when it's all done. It would be hell of a lot easier than trying to recreate the superstructure on something like a destroyer or cruiser!
Tools needed:
table saw
band saw or scroll saw
router
drill
spindle sander
detail sander
woodworking knives and chisels
medium and fine rasps
a nice selection of clamps
Materials needed:
1/2 - 3/4" plywood for basic cross-sectional pieces
2z4 for supporting framework
1x2 or firring strips for outer frame (to mount skin)
thin, flexible plywood (add water for extra flexibility) or plastic sheets
lots of gorilla glue or comparable adhesive
a good assortment of wood screws
and a whole lot of time!

I posted this in the other nautical thread but maybe it makes more sense here.....
I think you could maybe just start small and build yourself the conning tower of a late model VIII class U-Boat the ones that had the twin quads in the Flakturm.
But if you want a quick and nasty option why don’t you make a Neger or the very simular Marder subs like those below, these where used in anger during the D-day landings and had several successes, just borrow a torpedo from one of you Avengers

…..or instead of making one of the above glorified human torpedos, you could build one of the true midget U-boats like the Hetch, Molch, Seehund, or Biber subs all of these would be doable especially considering the size, or lach there of.

Although a true Uboat...I don't know how long the 1/72 Type VII is that revell makes, but the box is huge, I know the Coastal Type XXIII which is a small boat, is 20" in 1/72 which is big.
