If I was a kid, a couple of these alongside a Rattler with Wild Weasel would've been a dream come true. It's neat for what it is I think, and for the price you can't beat it...

I'm not sure the wing's underside lacks detail due to weight issues... I'd say it's much more likely the latter reasons (cost saving measure most likely, knowing PTE). If you had a duplication of the upper wing attached to the bottom the weight added would be quite negligible (I've worked with plastics for years, it's really not a big difference), but the cost in labor for putting it together as well as mold tooling complexities would be pretty high by comparison... PTE's all about cheap, that's why the plastics they use are what they are actually.

What I dig about their stuff the most is the detail's there... They really put a lot of effort into their accessories (not so much the small arms, but everything else is top notch), and the vehicles all may be small but they feature detail, detail, detail... And some aren't even really small actually (aren't the Humvee's and Littlebird fine?). PTE's a winning toy line to me and I hope Big Lots does more routine stocking of these.

First I've got BL's everywhere around here, and second I just love this stuff... I mean, from the watch tower to the bridge and beyond, there's very little of it I wouldn't buy even to chop up into something for Star Wars or just to use as a nice elaborate way of displaying figures. Kudos to them really for doing something with "cheap" toys that the other "cheap" knock-off toys don't do. Chap Mei eat your heart out I guess. :)

F16 is about 32 foot wingtip rail to wingtip rail, the Warthog about 57 foot - nearly twice the span. Imagine if the F16 and the 'Hog in the bottom picture swapped places...

You hit the nail on the head, Jesse James!
I can't seem to get enough of PTE either! The figures are the probably the BEST articulated military figures on the market! PTE lacks a bit detail, but with some 'weathering', these will look great! AND I love the fact that their figures CAN FIT, SIT in their vehicles!!!!
It would be nice if Big Lots would carry this line ALL year round instead for a couple of months. If you don't buy it now, it'll ALL be gone by Christmas.

I'm not too wild about the PTE figures as they seem just a little out of proportion and toyish when compared with all my other 1:18 modern figures - though they certainly are well-articulated. The accessories, however, are another story! I've recently bought a number of PTE sets due to the accessories and diorama pieces alone. The crates, oil drums, ammo boxes, etc. that come with a figure set are worth the $4.50 price, even without the figures. Some of the vehicles aren't that bad either. I'm especially fond of the Navy RIB boat - which looks great with a bunch of the new BBI Combat Divers! One little set that I got a kick out of - and got several - were the horses and camels. Now my 21c Afghani figures have some sort of "vehicle"

Heads up for Canadians: the PTE A-10 is at TRU. They also had the little pte F-18 and a bunch of other crap. All were in the green TRU Elite Command packaging. A-10 was $40.

The A-10 looked pretty cool but i remembered it was the size of a 1/18 Mustang so passed on it. Besides i have ordered a GWS A-10 and it should be here any day....cost about the same as the PTE one too.

They also had tons of 1/72 FOV....i wonder if we might see 1/18 FOV at TRU at some point, since there are no Targets in Canada, maybe TRU will pick up the rights. *fingers crossed*

The A10 is a very good looking and huge! model, I dont mind it being underscale, Im also thinking of painting it in the P47 Eileen colors.

It's just that it's one of my fave planes and, as mentioned above, it's closer to 1/24 than 1/18(And 1/24 is my scale).
Did you happen to notice the sticker price, dude?
