Buying a V-1 is a lot better than making it !!
I think that I will get at least 3 of them. One to keep in the box one to play with and one to customize. There I go again.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Man there sure is a lot of detail in that 88. I wonder how much money that will sell for?

A V-1 being chased down by a Tornado!! Another company now involved in 1/18!! This is about as good as it can get. We just need the Tornado. The V-1 is a real good start and is very welcome. Please let us know how to find this. Too often this kinda stuff can get lost. A V-1 and GeeBee is most welcome hanging from my ceiling.

Did we find out what the V1 is made out of and what the price tag is?
I'm with Aferg, it is really important to figure out the cost of these new 1/18th Aircaft... but they look Fantastic!!!! 8)

You mean a Tempest i guess, Tornado's didn't come out till the 70's. :P

Actually, one could use one's DDay Spitfire to chase the V1. It would kinda, sorta, kinda be ok. It was actually the Griffin engined Mk XIV's that chased after V1's but it would still look pretty cool.

Pics of the show are on the Merit site but they don't really show the 1/18 elite force. You can see a bit in one pic so you know the stuff was there..

I received a reply from Pegasus.....

Hi John,

Thanks for the interest in the V-1! We should have these available to ship
in about a week and a half. We hopefully will have some pics of it posted
up in our ebay store at that time.

I will drop you a line when it's available to ship, and we can go from there
on your order, or you can call me here at the shop, and I'll take all your
particulars and ship out to you as soon as possible.

Hope that helps some!
Thanks again,
Erik

Typhoons didn't chase after V1's...they were a bit too slow and besides they were needed for ground raids on the continent. Tempests, which looked very similar, chased V1's, as did Griffon engined spitfires, modified P-51's and P-47's (both were stripped bare), mosquitos and right at the end, meteors.

It is fustrating that Merit didn't post some of the 1/18th scale displays, but here is a slightly better picture ...

Shouldn't be. I called them less then 30 minutes ago inspired by your post. They seem stunned by the attention. I'm to call them back in another 30 minutes and talk to Erik, which I will do. Thanks very much for the info. Another 1/18 player, who'da thunk. And very welcome too.

OK, just got off the phone with Pegasus, my order is in for the prepainted V-1 and the GeeBee, for the X-1 they will call me when it's available next year, and that's only because I reside in a third world county.

To be clear, they very much want folks to place orders with their local hobby shop, not Wally World, Toys R Us or any other chain. They are not retail. They do want to maintain their distribution system.

The V-1 is on the water. The GeeBee should be the same in December.
