Hypothetical situation - What repaints would we like to see
I know that sometimes we express our preference for newly created 18 scale airplanes to be introduced to market over the tendency for the big three to isssue repaint after repaint (obviously more so for 21st) into this hobby. Wit that in mind, I would like to see what the members think about repaints in light of this hypothetical situation.
If the Dauntless, B-25, Mig 21, and F-4 in 18 scale never come to fruition and the big three are no longer issuing any newly created aircraft at all and all three were only going to issue repaints on existing lines of planes, according to our members' tastes and desires, what repaints of certain planes would you like to see if we weren't going to see any new creations?
For this exercise you can only pick a maximum of three repaints total but that can be metted out in any manner, ie, three repaints of one model, two of one, and one of another, etc.
I was going to list the repaints of all the 1:18 models out there to help us along, but I think everyone here already knows what's been made.
My picks:
(2) P-51D's - "Miss Marilyn" and "Moonbeam McSwine"
(1) Spitfire - Any new camouflage scheme with the green and grey similiar to the D-Day, but doesn't have to have stripes. I like the green and brown, but I'd like to see green and grey scheme.

I was just thinking about repaints when I recently purchased a 1:18 P-47 Bubbletop: we really need a 56th FG scheme for that plane in 1:18 and I wouldn't mind "Tar Heel Hal" or "No Guts, No Glory" as well! We could also use a repaint (and re-release) of the AH-1W SuperCobra. A Bf-109G in DAK markings would be cool, as would another repaint for the FW-190 (though those didn't sell well...) Galland's ME-262 would make another interesting repaint.
"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
The hard part for me is limiting it too only three, but here goes.
1) "Marge" Richard Bong's P-38
2) "Frenesi" Tommy Hayes P-51D
3) "Big Hog" Tom Blackburns F4U-1A. This one I'm surprised hasn't been done yet as 21st has used it on there packaging for years, and they released it in 1:32.
I could actually name three for each of the planes I just mentioned, plus more for the other planes currently in production.

I'd love to see much more figure repaints. I like what 21st is doing with "Otto" right now. I wish they would do this more often. How about new german Fallschirmjäger in different camo patterns?
Also I'd love to see a repaint of the Panther and the Panzer IV.

And again - it is spelled WeHrmacht, guys...

Actually, I would like to see Gabrieski's P-47 done, possibly in the legends series. I feel it should have been the first P-47 bubbletop released.

O.k. the repaints I wouls like to see:
Gabreski's P-47, and F-86,
Robin Olds' P-38, P-51, and F4 Phantom (hey 21st is making one after all)
"Glamorous Glen III" Yeagers P-51D, "Gentleman Jim" Jim Brownings P-51D, "Missouri Armada" John England's P-51D, and "Passion Wagon" Arval Roberson's P-51D. (What can I say I like the birds of the 357th)
The corsairs of Roger Hedrick, and Jim Streig, to go along with Tom Blackburns, and if a -1 birdcage was ever made The white 13 of Kenneth Walsh, white 7 of James Cupp, and white 20 of Foy Garison. If a -4 were ever made the snake one pokeyjtc did would be nice as well as Jesse Folmar's checker nose.
"Yippee" the 5,000th P-38 produced, a black P-38, some more A6M zero's in both army and navy paint schemes, Hartman's 109, Glenn's F-86, Parr's F-86, I could go on but I better stop for now.
