Re: 1:18 figures Help

I have broken so many joints on my figures over the years! For future prevention, if a joint is sticking too much, soak the area in hot water for awhile, and then try again gently. Once broken, my usual method is to drill a hole into each side (in this case, one hole on the arm, one on the torso). T...

Re: BBI announces f-18c

1) BBI is a company who just wants to make money; 1/18 military is one way they sometimes do that; 2) They don't have much serious competition right now like back in the day fighting against 21C and Admiral; 3) This is a much more limited release than the original mass-retail; 4) Labor & materials c...

In reference to your questions regarding F-104C Starfighter "Smoke II", a replica is on display at the March Air Museum, Riverside, California. Here is a Link: http://www.marchfield.org/f104.htm A photo of "Smoke II"'s last pilot and information can be found in this Link: http://www.vvmf.org/thewal...

Re: Flying Styro kit: 1+1+1 Combo?

I went in on this deal with a couple other board members a couple months back - it's a great way to save a bundle on shipping from FSK. The shipping from Europe is slow, but everything arrived ok. Absolutely. How did the model look? Just need one more person to get the free shipping now. I actually...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

Maybe this isn't a fair comparison, but wouldn't the level of ruggedness on the recently released Merit 1/16 Tiger and T-34 be a decent indicator of the same for the Dauntless? Aren't those also built-up model kits?

Actually, the scale is closer to 1/15 (1/15.6 length, 1/14.4 width). I actually am building their Mossie right now (will hopefully finish before I die ; ).

It is big (noticeably wider than my 1/18 P-38), but I don't mind in this case.

I forgot to post this, but last month I completed a multiple-step transaction with USCGSARdog and YT. I purchased 3 FSK kits from the Czech Republic to get the free shipping deal. Then USCGSARdog and YT paid me for their kits plus domestic shipping to get them from my house to theirs. They were both...

I agree with SGT. ROCK - I'm also a longtime member but don't post so much. I understand the intent of the suggested post regulation in conjunction with time. But haven't some of the scammers here posted a lot right up until their scams? One idea - what if we let new members buy items but not sell o...

Re: 88 gun elevation, how do?

I've busted so many pieces off of my 88 recently - and I'm 34 so your suggestion for age range of 17+ still seems conservative :) I can't even figure out where a few remaining pieces go back on. In terms of the elevation, mine sticks quite a bit even though sticking paint is no longer the issue. It ...

Any update on Series 6? John's last post stated that they were due for October 2011. Since then, no news. Anyone know what the new due date is? He posted on his facebook page at the end of Sept.: "We have encountered MAJOR issues with the upcoming Marauder Series #6. Unfortunately, we will not be a...

Re: 1-16th Russian Tank Question

To answer the original question, I think it depends on whether you have reference points to make it look bigger. So in Pickel's post, you see a 1:18 T-34 next to a 1:16, so it's very noticeable. But if you had a 1:16 T-34 facing off against a 1:18 Tiger six feet away, it wouldn't be noticeable in my...

Re: Marauder Gun Runners oversized?

Webpages are cool and full of info! huh? Anyhow...Marauder weapons are very well-scaled for the most part. There's not a huge selection of WW2, but I like a lot the ones there are: .45 pistol, luger, mauser, PPK, MG-34 (w/no ammo belt or drum though), stick grenade, and Tommy gun (I think the "gang...

I find it funny how a plane like the 21C Avenger made it on both the "worst" and "best" list :) And I actually agree with the points by both - it gives me some sympathy for the manufacturers who must look at us and be more than a bit confused! So I'll offer up another one of the same type - JSI Blac...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

In regards to the Quad .50 trailer, I think it is actually a well-done piece for what it represents. It seems everybody's issue is that 21C should have picked something different; but I don't remember any complaints on its actual executiion/details. The spot for the figure is super-small, but I thin...

Re: Is there a need for a MRAP in 1/18 scale ?

MRAP for sure! There's been a lot of new developments in modern military gear that 21C and BBI and others never kept up with. Obviously the demise of certain companies didn't help, but BBIs coming MH-60 is missing the sensors and fuel probes; none of the humvees out there have the up-armor or turret...

Re: Best Brand Normandy Paratrooopers?

They are each great in their own way. The dragon look the best, but of course have that limited posability (those two factors are often closely related - joints are always hard to hide). If you have the cash, get them for the gear if nothing else. The six different 21C versions have a nice mix of di...
