Re: NEW FOV 1/72 Panzer IV & 38(t) PICS

I'd love for FOV to take the hull of the 38t and release the 140/1 on it next:

I have a sweet spot for the 222 that goes back to when 21st Century released their original 1:32 version.

iirc, I think it was originally done as part of an advertisement for the Cromwell kit. There's plenty of photoshop stuff out there that was done for more underhanded reasons.

Re: 1st look at the Dragon Ha-Go light tank

Wow, look at those exhaust covers, very nice detail. I embedded a youtube video on my blog, it was an evalauation of the type 95 by the allies. Don't think I can embed it here due to no HTML functionality, but I can link to it. Obviously I don't claim any credit for originally uploading the video. ...

Re: Dragon Armor Announce Three New 1:72 Releases (July)

I think we can agree its a nice model though? Supposedly one of these things knocked out 3 Shermans with one round late in the war! ( http://www.achtungpanzer.com/sturmtiger-sturmpanzer-vi.htm ) Thanks for posting that! Like I said, I'd never been able to find any actual report of their use in comb...

Re: Dragon Armor Announce Three New 1:72 Releases (July)

actually the '44 uprising was by the polish home army, the Jews played a relatively small part; mostly because there weren't many left by then. The Jewish uprising in Warsaw was in '43. All Sturmtigers built were used in combat, just not in their intended roles (except for the 2 used during the War...

Re: Dragon Armor Announce Three New 1:72 Releases (July)

How about a freaking 3-tone camo Pz IV lang? Where's the Sturmpanzer that's been promised since right after the first Tiger was released? Really? Another Sturmtiger? Germany only built 12! And only a couple of them actually fired a shot in anger...by slaughtering Jews in Warsaw!

Ugh.

It looks separate, which makes it kind of bizarre to me that it doesn't rotate.

Re: review of the PanzerStahl Sd.Kfz.234 series

Is it glued down? Molded to the superstructure? I would only consider getting this if there is a solution that would allow the turret to rotate. If not, I'm waiting for HM!

Does the turret rotate? Can you see anyway you could make it rotate if it doesn't?

Re: corgi fighting machines panzer 4 question

I've played a lot of different games, most recently Blitzkrieg Commander II in 1/72, and FOV in 1/144 scale. FOW looks and plays a lot better with smaller miniatures with the rules as-is, in my opinion. The table is less crowded and tanks have better spacing.

Re: corgi fighting machines panzer 4 question

I wargame with 1/72 models and figures, and the Pz IV was smaller than my CDC, Dragon, and FOV 1/72 models, so I didn't use them. If you *exclusively* use the corgi models, then they would probably work okay. But next to true 1/72 models they are too small and stand out.

It is about 1:76. It is NOT 1:72, it's definitely smaller than that.

Re: the scale of corgi fighting machines miniatures

I used to collect these - the little "fighting machines" that sold for under $5. About 1:72 - M8 greyhound, M3 Stuart, M3 halftrack, Scimitar About 1:76 - Pz IV, Sherman, T-34 About 1:87 - Tiger I, M-48 This is from memory. There was a Churchill and King Tiger as well, they were both on the smaller ...

Re: Dragon Armor Feb. Releases

I really hope dragon will do a short barrelled 75mm gun on the sdkfz 251 halftrack. I think that dragon has done almost every variation of the sdkfz 251 series, besides the short barrelled 75 mm gun. No doubt! I LOVE the fact that they are finally doing the 251/22, but a 251/9 'stummel' would be aw...

Re: Altaya Bedford and Panhard EBR75

The Bedford excites me, but the paint scheme looks toyish. Does the 6pdr's trail split so you can deploy it? Although I totally repaint mine, a simple wash and dry brush on these will improve their apperance a lot. As for the 6 ponder it is not "glued" to the Bedford but it can't be set on a deploy...

Re: A Q for all you 1/72 Enthusiasts...

I'd go for something like this. A wargames company recently put out I think four 2x2 foot sections that you can put together to make a nice base. I think the cost was like $50 per section, which was too high for me.
