TEAMSKI:

Thanks.
I just relocated my pylons about 30 minutes ago with Super Glue. I haven't touched my flaps--I like them up. My BBD flaps will flop with the slightest jostle, so I'm glad my Donald Duck's flaps are firmly in place.

MOUNTAIN-MAN: Thanks for the info. After I got my Donald Duck, I did several searches on SSHQ about BBI's Killer P-51 and found contradicting replies about riveting and weathering. Late last night I continued to look at more replies and the more I looked at, including yours, the more I feel a lot be...

I went to Target today and the BBI stuff (Abrams tank, Apache helicopter, other vehicles) were no longer on the "end of the aisle" clearance. They are located with the FOV 1/18 tanks.

Last week they're on "clearance", today they're not. It makes me wonder what BBI's status is with Target.

I have been comparing my new Donald Duck to my 21st Century Big Beautiful Doll. I'm asking veteran owners of 1/18 P-51s if my evaluation, partly based on other SSHQ comments, in addition to my own, is correct---BBI P-51s are more detailed than 21C P-51s but are less accurate because: 1. Question: Do...

PANZER_M: Priller flew FW-190s with differing paint schemes. Do you know which FW-190 paint scheme he was flying in over Juno? PS..the Priller strafing scene of Juno from the pilot's viewpoint was the most impressive scene from THE LONGEST DAY---it reminds me of the scene in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN wher...

3 questions about the new FW-190 Red 9:

1. What was Red 9's theater of operations? (France, USSR ?) and who was the pilot?

2. Anyone notice the big gap in the tail of the FW-190 Red 9 in Badcat's photo?

I would buy the FOV Tiger---if it looked like the photo on my FOV Abrams box. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

I was going to buy FOV's Tiger---based on the photo of it on the box of my FOV Abrams which showed a different paint scheme, weathering and wear/tear. I'm disappointed after seeing the photos posted here of the production Tiger---a different paint scheme, no weathering or wear/tear that I can see. H...

It appears that Target is dropping BBi since they have their 1/18 vehicles in the 30% off clearance section. Foxhole.com said Target is the exclusive brick/mortar dealer for FOV 1/18 vehicles and figures.

I'd like to know if it is really true that Target is dropping BBI.

I was looking for a FOV Tiger at Target last Saturday and found no Tiger, but I found an FOV Abrams and two BBI helicopters in the R/C car section---they apparently were out of room in the military toy section and put them in with the R/C cars.

Again, has it been 100% confirmed that Target will no longer carry BBI?

If so, is there a timeline for Target ending sale of BBI merchandise?

If so, is there a timeline for Target getting rid of all BBI products?

Remove funky antenna wire on BBI 1/18 planes?

Is there anyone else who removed the funky antenna wire on BBI 1/18 planes?

I got my new BBI Donald Duck P-51 yesterday and compared it to my 21st Century Big Beautiful Doll P-51. The BBI P-51 is superior to the 21C in most areas---except the antenna wire.

M4 carbine vs. competition

The Army's standard M4 carbine didn't fare well in a dust test compared with three other carbines at the Aberdeen test center. The M4 experienced 863 minor stoppages and 19 major stoppages after ten M4s each fired 6,000 rounds of ammunition. By contrast, in the side-by-side test, the Heckler and Koc...

TMANTHEGREAT:

I found out that Donald Duck was given to another pilot after Emerson returned to the US in 1944. When he returned to the UK, Emerson was given a new P-51, which he was in when he was shot down during the Battle of the Bulge.
I don't know what became of Donald Duck and its new pilot.

Thanks. I opted for BBI's 1/18 Donald Duck P-51...it has the awful sliding-canopy slot, but it does have more detail, oxygen mask and weathering, although I would prefer 1/32 instead of 1/18.

It appears the new 21st century 1/32 P-51s don't have the canopy slot...or pilot oxygen mask or weathering.

One more question: does Donald Duck have the slot behind the canopy (like 21st Century's 1/18 P-51s) so the canopy can slide?

So you're saying the real Donald Duck survived the war?
Also, after Emerson was KIA flying another Mustang, what was Donald Duck's combat record?...Was it assigned to another pilot and given a new paint scheme, etc.?
