Re: Product Review: Hobby Master F6F Hellcat in 1/32 Scale
Before an Avenger in 1:48, Hobby Master needs to make an A6M Zero... I have a Maurshin diecast Zero, which looks the part, but it's not big on detail. A Hobby Master version would be far superior! You should consider an Aoshima Tman. There's been three recent releases. I just got this one myself fr...

Re: Product Review: Hobby Master F6F Hellcat in 1/32 Scale
Just got my first HM 1:32 Dauntless the other day. The Midway McClusky. I must say I'm very impressed with it. 8) Don't know why I waited so long. Spot on review, Tman. I am a big fan of the 1/32 scale, but somehow the HM Hellcat doesn't really do it for me. Price being probably the biggest issue, ...

Re: Product Review: Hobby Master F6F Hellcat in 1/32 Scale
Good review Tman. I was looking at getting one of the HM Hellcats so now I know what to expect, thanks. Just got my first HM 1:32 Dauntless the other day. The Midway McClusky. I must say I'm very impressed with it. 8) Don't know why I waited so long. Occasionally these come up for a good deal on eba...

Re: Skymax is alive and well
Guess that makes it official. 8) Thought the recent Devastator was a split run on the previous release and one time event. Given the first grey version still available I don't know what they were thinking. Quite a few including me wanted a Midway Val. Maybe they were paying attention or there is not...

Re: Any decent Pearl Harbor pre built Zeroes? 1/72
Most of the Witty Zeroes have permanent wheels down, however three to four of the last releases in the "brown box" have u/c gear up or down. Usually you can spot them at retail in the $39 range and the old ones lower priced. There is one grey Pearl Harbor A6M3 in there and one grey A6M2, but the lat...

I'm pretty much the same. Have the second release Corgi Doolittle Raider so pass for me. Does have possibilities though. About the price of a Hobby Master 1:72 twin. I'm hoping they make an all tan MTO version or something else I don't already have. Got the B-17 on pre-order...crossing my fingers.

Re: 1/144 P-36 UPDATE Sunday 11-8-15
I like the Micro Krystal Klear solution for the windows JR, never heard of it till now, looks like it works well. So… Taylor drove an orange Buick to the airfield during the attack. I wonder if the Japanese pilots had any difficulty spotting that car from the air. Projects are coming along n...

Re: 1/144 P-36 UPDATE 10-26-15
That's kool you can have different versions of the Mowhawk for Pearl. Like that Rasmussen P-36. Yeah something like that diorama, though now it would probably be more of an authentic location huh. I read Taylor's squadron plane was 316, but that was destroyed at Wheeler and he flew 155 of another sq...

I think you are on the right track. Those trees and palms look real. Great idea. 8) I didn't know Haleiwa was what looks like it's right near the beach? From the TTT movie you'd think it was near the mountains with a volcanic black sand runway. …and wow, it's still there? Did you take those pics? I ...

Re: Anyone closed the divebrakes on the HM Dauntless?
It's not like HM couldn't make them with dive brakes closed. They made five closed and nine open, but they are not in sequence and random, unlike the Helldiver with only the first couple closed. I have four of the closed SBD's if you count the Banshee and the last offering with them opened. Probably...

Re: Product Review: Air Force 1 1:144 B-29
Yeah, folks were pretty brutal on this including me, but it's like they didn't even try to make it right. Something got lost in translation at AF1. It doesn't bode well for the upcoming 1:72 WWII birds if this is the attention given to the B-29. Who did they think would buy this? It's a kid's toy at...

Re: 1/18 Merit Fw190a
I got three of those Doras. It seemed they were the last of the 1:18 planes that languished at the Wallfarts for quite a while. I know I at least got two on sale or clearance. I think with the earlier Butcher Bird, if the 1:32 version was any indicator, it would have been far better detailed. I woul...

Re: Collecting formations of aircraft
When I can get them from the same squadron and the same time frame yeah. Closest I've gotten is the 610 Squadron Spitfire set of three from Corgi, after tracking them down individually. There's an HM 610 Beaufighter so that might work too. You can find some from the same squadron sometimes, but like...

Re: Odierno: ISIS could have been prevented
Anyone can make a biased film and bend some facts. It's true, dannyc. Anyone can make a documentary just like anyone can edit Wikipedia. You should never trust a single source for anything - try to see if there is a consensus of opinion AND EVEN THEN make sure that consensus doesn't have a deeper m...

I forgot Danny, you don't trust Wiki. How about Time magazine? http://world.time.com/2011/10/21/iraq-not-obama-called-time-on-the-u-s-troop-presence/ To be fair, Bush didn't want to sign any agreement to set a date for withdrawal, but was mandated by the UN to make a State of Forces Agreement with I...

Re: Odierno: ISIS could have been prevented
Danny, don't know what you are watching, there's a lot of rewriting of history or bending the truth out there. Especially by people who have some political gain, but the facts are history. President George Bush signed with the Iraqi government the State of Forces Agreement or SOFA in 2008 for a comp...

What he fails to mention (because it's Fox News) is the Iraqi government we helped set up had an option to keep us there, but they threw us out and wanted a complete withdrawal.

Yeah not much you can do about a site that's been there for a long time with imbedded attitude before I ever joined, but at least good for news and a few worthwhile conversations with some cool people. AF1 seem to have no problem competing with Hobby Master and with a very recent release of the Hawk...

Re: First pic of AF-1 Hawkeye
agreed. The obvious bias on other diecast forums really gets tiresome. I'm certain some of the posters are getting perks from HM (or Corgi) or perhaps even work for them. Instantaneous bashing of competing products is the clue in. Most collectors should be delighted AF1 is on the scene and be suppo...

1:72 armor boxes surely aren't that big to store. Are they Hobby Master and Dragon boxes? I keep my boxes if at all possible. I cannot display as much as I would like anyways. I even have the shipping boxes I kept when buying online for any large 21st Century Toys aircraft or armor. You would be sur...

Re: Why is the JSI Adolf Gallan BF-109 a poor selling item?
I understand being tired of the same planes and especially the same paint schemes. I have been buggy the powers to be to make a F4 Wildcat with plug in wheels and price it under $95. and make 4 color schemes at the same time. I think it would bring excitement and the price point would be a winner. ...
