Re: ALL-GO production status
Yes, I want a redtail! I doubt they'd get it put together and shipped in time, however, even with the easy instructions you just gave them. They should seriously be doing that with a bunch of their P-51s, since they woefully underused the updated D model in 1/32 scale. I think someone mentioned goin...

Can this model be scaled up and down as you see fit? Like once you render everything, could you churn out a 1/32 version just by adjusting the printer settings? Or is there more work involved than that?

Hey everybody! Some of your questions are being answered about this plane right now on the Smithsonian blog:

Re: Repainting 21st Century 1:32 planes
I popped off the back P-40 glass pretty easily, but then I haven't glued it back on yet. I'm thinking about drilling out the gas cap on it, if I'm feeling ambitious, but right now the project is on hold until I can figure out how I'm going to do the paint scheme. I'm thinking masks now, but I need a...

Re: Repainting 21st Century 1:32 planes
Molon Lave, thanks for the link. i've seen that build before and the underside looks a little off (the US Army font looks a little wide), but it will help when it comes time for painting. Now, if only I could also figure out how to fabricate the proper pitot tube to replace the silly tube they gave ...

Re: Hobby Master 1/32 Dauntless Thoughts
They're expensive, yes, but I have to say I like my Hobbymaster Dauntless a heck of a lot better than the BBI one for one main reason: working dive brakes. Plus, it's nice to have a choice of paint schemes. I'm glad I splurged on the Coral Sea one, although I agree, the pilot figures are pretty lous...

Re: ALL-GO! In The Pipe-Line
So what are the other 3 schemes for spitfires if they're referring to it as S4? Other than maybe a 1/32 Borough of Lambeth version, I can't remember which other ones were supposed to come out but never did...

Re: Repainting 21st Century 1:32 planes
I've primed my 1/32 P-40 and wanted to do the Pearl Harbor scheme like its 1/18 cousin (since it's a simple paint scheme to experiment), but I cannot for the life of me find a 1/32 decal sheet (checked both online and the local hobby shops). Anyone have a source of either decals or a way to produce ...

I really like the new canopy on that 109. Did you cut apart the original or did you just create a new one?

It would be even more professional if they correct the typo for "dispaly." I wonder if the "complete with placards" means we might get more detail than the original release...

Re: Removing BBI 1/32 Dauntless wings
Yeah, after probing around and looking at boxed pics to remind myself of how the tabs are situated, I decided that I better not tempt fate with it, especially after the little bombs tabs broke under the smallest of pressure. That BBI plastic doesn't seem to be very forgiving at that scale. I've also...

Removing BBI 1/32 Dauntless wings
Has anyone done this safely? This reminds me of removing stuka wings - they seem pretty solid in there and I'm afraid of snapping the tabs when I pull on them. Oh, and as a warning to others, I wouldn't try and remove the smaller underwing bomb hardpoints. I tried to pull them out and both sides sna...

Re: P-38/P-47 pilot accessory questions
Yeah, I have both planes and yet I can't find an additional set of accessories for my P-47 Razorback pilot, so I'm thinking he never came with them. At least I found the bomb and bazooka tubes that I haven't looked at since I bought the plane years ago. The paint ops are definitely inferior, so at l...

P-38/P-47 pilot accessory questions
I know the pilots are identical, but did the P-47 pilots come with the accessories that the P-38 pilot had (parachute, oxygen mask, pistol, and knife)? Or were those extra pieces only exclusive to the P-38 release and the carded figure?
