I also had a problem with the wing dehedral and corrected it with super glue Aviatornut like you did. I agree its a magnificent Cat and one that was worth the wait. The only thing now I dont like is the tires which I would love to replace with Avenger tires if I could only get the Avenger tires off ...

Very cool paint scheme but I will wait until BBI comes out with a Hellcat in the markings of Minisi III the mount of Commander David McCampbell. Until then my current Hellcat is enough. But again very cool markings.

Killerf6 wrote:Yeah, Big Hog would be great, or how about white 17 of Roger Hedrick the XO of VF-17, or maybe white 3 of Big Jim Streig. Ahh well actually you could do just about any plane from VF-17 and I would want one.
I totally agree with you killerf6 on all of those!!!!

I'm not basing my statement on just WWII. The corsair was in production until 1957, much longer than any of it's contempararies, and was in service with foreign countries up until the early 1980's, equalled only by the P51. The F6F's production ended with the war, and was in fact due to be replaced...

LOL I'm an F-14 junkie too. Just an fyi VF-84 flew -1D's, and was made up of many members of VF-17, (Jolly Rogers). The CO was Roger Hedrick the XO of VF-17. The pics of VMF-214 armed with rockets was probably a later incarnation of the famed Black Sheep as the -1's and -1A's did not have the provi...

Mike,

First I want to say great job on the 1/18th Hellcat. Second is BBI planning on any more repaints for the Corsair? I would like to see one wearing the markings of Big Hog of VF-17.

Got my Hellcat the other day. Great job BBI. I thought I would hate the folding wing feature but it aint as bad as I thought it would be. The only negative I have to say about it is there was a gap on the spine of the fusalge and on the underside of the plane which I corrected with modelers putty. O...

They had 4 of them along with 3 Bullfrog P-51's at the Maplewood TRU. Saw then today and will be getting one this weekend. It will look good sitting next to my 1/18th Ridge Runner.

I think 21st would do a great job on a 1/32nd Hellcat. Thier 1/32nd Corsairs were pretty nice and very well detailed.

There were a couple of Bullfrogs and Bald Eagles at my local Walmart plus some AVG P-40's. I to thought that the Bullfrog P-51 was a TRU exclusive but I guessed wrong.

Wow that pretty cool looking. But one F6F is enough for me until BBI paints one up in the markings of Minisi III the mount of medal of honor winner Capt Dave McCampbell. Until then Lt Varacius Hellcat is just fine.
