Re: War Park---Metal Figures and Armor, New on the Scene?

I’ve been seriously collecting 1/30 scale soldiers, armor, and aircraft for over a year now and the War Park figures were among some of the first I purchased. The company, based in China, has been around for a couple years and is gradually expanding their lineup from their “Battle of Kharkov” series...

Good to know... These were at Target until they started carrying a reincarnated Chap Mei military toy line and you can still find them on Amazon for cheap 8)

Re: The Hiya Toys Aliens APC is Awesome!!

Thanks Mark :D Yeah, that’s a Build A Rama corner ruins piece. I got it years ago and it seemed to work for my little Aliens setup. But the APC is definitely worth getting, if you haven’t gotten one already... I’m really happy with it and how the Joy Toy figures work with the model. However, I may c...

Yep, I’m familiar with the Neca items and they are really nice. Just their odd 7” scale doesn’t fit with anything else I collect!

The Hiya Toys Aliens APC is Awesome!!

I know this has been available for a few months, but recently purchased the Hiya Toys Aliens APC 1/18 scale model... It wasn’t cheap, but was definitely worth the purchase :D The model is large and has a fully detailed interior and exterior. The turrets rotate, the main turret slides back on the rai...

Re: Joy Toy 1:18 figure breakdown and size comparisson

I just got the APC and a couple sets of the Joy Toy USMC figures late last week and haven’t had time to get some good pictures just yet  The Joy Toy figures are amazing! They’re really like fancy versions of the GI Joe 25th or 30th Anniversary style figures, save with even better articulation ...

Re: Hobby Master F-105G Wild Weasel

This is a neat new release and one I’ll certainly plan on getting 8) I have their Old Crow II F-105 model and I’ve always really liked it. Still, I’m surprised Hobby Master is only now doing a 2-seat F-105, given that their F-105 tooling has been around for nearly a decade.

Re: 1/6 ITEMS

That is pretty cool 8) Oddly enough, I remember seeing those at my local TRU way back when, but I didn’t have any 1/6 German figures at the time and it may have been out of my price range... As for other 1/6 artillery, Dragon made a German Pak-37 and Pak-38 AT gun in 1/6 scale, but not a PAK-40 (at ...

Re: Holy #!@*! Just Shoot Me!

Years ago, I got my 1/6 scale Ultimate Soldier R/C M5 Stuart in brand new MIB condition from an auction house in Pennsylvania called Stout Auctions. Markecho, really glad to see an old member pop in and really glad to hear you still have your 1/18 collection! Re: Dust off the Tom Cat

The JSI F-14 was certainly the largest and most complicated of the 1/18 aircraft ever produced. It was definitely pushing the limits in terms of size and functionality. While it fell short in a lot of ways (the Spotcat fiasco, weak landing gears, other QC issues) it’s still one of the most impressiv...

Re: Dust off the Tom Cat

Beautiful! Is the smaller F-14 the FOV 1/72 version? If so, that’s an excellent diecast model, based on the premium Century Wings tooling 8) I still kick myself for not having gotten the JSI 1/18 Black Knights F-14 years ago when my local Hobbytown USA store had one. It sat around for months and one...

 As far as someone getting into that thing to fly it: Like the famous quote from the Blue Max .... "We must assume then he was either very brave or very foolish" Very true... Re: Bachem Natter in 1.18--who is interested

Thanks Normandy! That sloppy squiggling line type camouflage is something I’m strongly considering for my Natter when I eventually get to building it... I’d probably add crosses on the wings (as opposed to numbers) to make it look more like a production example though.

Re: Mattel TOP GUN: MAVERICK diecast

There was a diecast company, TSM Models, that made replicas of the F-14s in 1/72 and 1/200 scales from the classic Top Gun movie. I don’t have one and so can’t comment on the quality, but I suspect it’s somewhere between the quality of Witty Wings and the premium Century Wings models. Here’s a link ...

Cool trivia 8) I always thought that opening scene was pretty cool... And the end when you see the pilots get off the alien ship as well. Close Encounters is often credited with popularizing the Flight 19 story and its alien/paranormal connections. However, $2,200 for an MIB 21st Flight 19 Avenger i...

Mike, that’s a fantastic-looking HE-219! I really like how you did the subtle mottling effect on the upper surfaces as it looks very realistic 8) However, your nose weight issue reminds me of a similar experience I had about 20 years ago when I built the massive Revell 1/48 scale B-29...
