Marauder Gun Runners - Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 Scale Figure Kickstarter
For anyone that still browses the SSHQ forum, Marauder Gun Runners just opened a Kickstarter campaign for their new Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 figure line. The core 4-figure set consists of a US Army Rifleman, US Army Grenadier, Viet-Cong Soldier and Viet-Cong RPG Soldier. There are differ...

Still kicking myself for passing up a Black Knights Tomcat at retail at the local Hobbytown store a decade ago... However, I did get the first VF-84 version, which I repainted to abate the spots, and still have proudly on display

I’ve wanted to get this for years... I placed an order recently with M&C Toys for one, so I guess I’ll see what happens there. It’s a shame it never made it to the US.

Hi Matt, good staff is always wanted... just by the way and as I juped into the 1:18 WWII story a bit late,... there was also a conversion to the PzIV Brummbaer, I'm uncertain if from you or.... and I'm really behind it, do you know who built it and ...would anyone sell such conversion for a resona...

Amazing work on that Stryker, tflenno
It’s a shame that back in the day, none of the other manufacturers (particularly BBI or Unimax) never made a 1/18 Stryker... But again, that is some first rate work on that model!

Re: Joy Toy WW2 United States Army 1:18 scale action figure set
They do look good... The JoyToy WWII Germans look great as well. I’ve got a few of the Joy Toy modern and sci-fi style figures - and they’re great - but I’ve been holding off on the WWII ones. I guess that’s because I got so many 21st, BBI, and Bravo Team figures back in the day

Re: Stug IV In 1/18th Scale
Picklehaube, your Stug IV is a work of art! And it’s a good reference as well...I did some more research and your model definitely works as a mid-production Stug IV, meaning one can keep the standard exhaust muffler. I hope mine will come out looking as good as yours

Awesome! It still looks good. When I first tried the silly putty masking technique on my 1/18 Jagdpanzer model a few months ago, I was readily impressed with how well the technique worked!pickelhaube wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 5:39 pmI used silly putty on this camo job but I was looking for a soft edge.

Re: Stug IV In 1/18th Scale
Great job on the Stug, Picklehaube! Have you ever tried using silly putty or panzer putty (basically the same thing) as a masking agent for doing the German hard edge camouflage? I experimented with it when I built Aracula’s 1/18 scale Jagdpanzer IV and was very happy with the end results. Just thou...

Re: Stug IV In 1/18th Scale
Your Stug is looking great, Matthew! Nice idea with the PVC pipe stand as well... I use a couple pieces of 2x4, sometimes set on a “lazy Susan” type turning base so I can rotate something when painting. Anyways, My kit should arrive on Monday (if not before) and then it will be time to start... I li...

Re: Re-Vamping the King Tiger ?
Speaking of tracks, if anyone has ever bought those Cobi (Lego knockoff brand from Poland) tanks, they make use of plastic snap-together pieces for the tracks that are quite nice and look fairly realistic... 3D printed snap-together track pieces may be the way to go...

Absolutely fantastic work on those X-Wings, Grilledcheese 8) I remember those large and cheap X-Wings at Walmart and TRU a few years ago. Never felt I had the skill or patience to modify one, however, so they were a pass for me. But speaking of 1/18 scaled X-Wings, there is a kit available for one f...

Re: Re-Vamping the King Tiger ?
Matthew, I am potentially interested in this. I didn’t participate in the first series a few years back, but given that 21st Century Toys never made one and that crowd-sourced one from a couple years ago never panned out, your kit would be the way to get one in 1/18... If the project looks like it w...

Sounds great, Picklehaube! Between your Stug IV and Grunt 1’s upcoming Panzer I, never mind Aracula’s numerous models, 1/18th scale armor definitely isn’t a dead subject. Keep us posted and let us know when you’re ready to take orders

Re: Collect or Use and Display?
I’d have to say I’m a little of both... I’ve probably got the majority of things out on display (my house is basically a museum) and I tend to rotate some items on display. Some items that are not on display I will keep boxed and stored in my garage until I decide to display them. It’s kind of fun d...

Re: Elite Force Bf-109
BBI only ever made two versions of their BF-109: the original DAK/Mediterranean version and the Erich Hartmann version several years later. The Hartmann version is the best, IMHO. I also like how BBI chose to do a BF-109G-2 as it didn’t duplicate aircraft types with the 21st Century Toys BF-109E-4 a...

Re: Elite Force Bf-109
Fullyautomatic, nice find on the BBI BF-109G-2! It’s one of the best 1/18 Luftwaffe models out there and has fantastic detail! It’s actually 9-10 years old now and was BBI’s second repaint of their BF-109 model. Anyways, the wings are all one piece and snap in place on the fuselage. They should pull...

Axis, lilfry14 is correct in what he posted above. All the first series XD vehicles and aircraft from 21st Century ThT were released in 2000 came with smaller figures, ostensibly so they could fit in the vehicles easier. Larger versions of some of the same figures were later released with other vehi...

Axis, the German soldier and the horse are both from the 2008 Hasbro Indiana Jones figure line. The German went with a motorcycle while the horse had an Indiana Jones figure. In the next couple pictures, it appears you have a first series 21st Century Toys XD German figure body with a head from thei...
