Re: BBI announces f-18c
After seeing the production pics, I'm definitely 100% not buying this one. No improvements worth the asking price....really no matter the price. They still have the LEX Fences pointed the wrong direction just like every Hornet they've made including the special releases. How friggin hard would it be...

Re: BBI announces f-18c
A new F/A-18 with supposed improved landing gear sounds great. But I’m really on the fence. I have a couple Golden Dragon Hornets as spares for customs later on I bought for cheap. Though I love some of the Sidewinders’ schemes over the years on their CAG jets starting with their A-7 Corsairs, it’s ...

C'mon guys, can't you read between the lines? Isn't it obvious to all? BBI Collectible rep said it was a twin engined USAF combat jet. Duh it's a F-101 Voodoo.

Forget all those choices. I'd rather have a P-38, but rather one that has a correct landing gear versus 21st' version or a Grumman F7F Tigercat.

Re: Your Favorite 32X?
I think initially what makes some people think the 4D Vision Jolly Rogers Tomcat no look right is really the tone and hue of the paint chosen. The 4D model appears to have a pure white...a titanium white, so bright its overbearing. The actual US Navy white is Insignia white which isn't so bright. Th...

aae83, nah buddy I didn't take any of your comments as criticism. In fact I believed asap they were positive. I was touched someone knew about the harv hornet. not many people including aviation enthusiasts do. Sadly for that black hornet it did become ugly over it's 10 years of service, after addin...

Those hooks are connected to the ceiling beams. Extremely strong support. My JSI Tomcat is on the other side of my son's room using the same hooks. Although that monster is hung with 80lb fishing line!!

Re: 1/18 Pegasus Bell X-1 in final scheme
Actually it's paint and configuration are correct for the first incarnation of the HARV F/A-18 from 1987-1988. It didn't have any formation lights, tufts, paddles, ECM blisters (I sanded those away), nor gun or gun openings and vents. I filled those in. The gun gas purge screens that BBI ,olded in w...

1/18 Pegasus Bell X-1 in final scheme
Wanted something different when I built this kit. I wanted the scheme Bell used right up to the point when the Smithsonian took possession of it. Painted completely in Tamiya lacquer spray cans. Couldn't have asked for a better paint. Lots of sanding and seam filling required to make this model pres...

For those looking for uber rare Century Wings
I once posted the entire 1977-1978 USS Nimitz collection of Century Wings jets as one set on ebay. Didn't sell so I'm breaking them up individually on ebay. The auctions just started and some more are coming online as of 8:58PM EST. Also Sundowners F-14 and F-4B and 1991 Jolly Rogers CAG are also up...

Yep. Those are serious manufacturer defects. Those were perfect spraying conditions. I wonder if moisture was trapped inside the cans at the factory and QA missed them....Tamiya should better the customer service over this and reimburse you with new cans..

I have a few questions. Just wanting to understand as much as possible since I use Tamiya sprays. What was the climate of the place whe...

My 2011 1/18 customs
The VF-33 F-14 was earlier this year and I sold it to a member here who would appreciate it more since he was on the USS America's last cruise. I sanded away ECM bumps that didn't exist on that particular Tomcat. The F-18 is the 1987-1988 YF-18A Hornet NASA used in their HARV experiments. I filled i...

Re: F16-C thoughts.
Sucks to hear about your F-16 shortcomings. My new 9/11 pilot has the same issue. Born with 2 left hands. I thought my pilot was the only anomaly. As for the bent fins the fix is simple but time consuming. Get some water boiling and also have a bucket full of ice water. Dip (holding with tongs) the ...

"My suggestions for F-14 pilots: 1. Make them PREPAINTED. 2. Release early-version pilots for the "Jolly Rogers" F-14 and later-version pilots for the "Black Knights" F-14." That's a good suggestion for the Tomcat pilots. Let's take this further. Pre paint the flight suit and all the standard equipm...

Re: JSI F-14 Tomcat Pros - The Good about the Tomcat
To Jay's question.
So you hear JSI is releasing another F-14? Nope, I know nothing.
If they keep that same configuration please let the next scheme actually represent a real Bombcat like VF-14 or VF-41 last cruise or VF-211 in OEF/OIF

Re: Repaint I Would Like to See...
A BBI Phantom repaint in SEA camp would be awesome. But since BBI really did their homework very well on matching the VF-84 Jolly Rogers scheme to the mold their Phantom represents, I doubt we'll see any camo schemes. The present mold is a J model which was exclusively used by the Navy and Marines. ...

The last time I spoke with BadCat regarding the backorder they have on the Skyworks GE F-14 nozzles, Rob mentioned that Skyworks is a 3 man operation and from our conversation, they have a person resource shortage due to some medical and/or physical ailments/injuries on some persons. Hence their del...
