The running gear turned out great. This Panzer I kit is designed to be an easy build. There are square sockets on the back of the running gear pieces that snap and hold (with CA glue) into the square sockets of the tub. Takes about 2 minutes per side. https://i.imgur.com/EzyW0Iyl.jpg https://i.imgur...
I made towing shackles for the various 1/16th tanks from Heng Long, Tamiya, Taigen, etc.. They've been pretty popular. https://images4.sw-cdn.net/product/picture/710x528_18372519_10800039_1491587969.jpg https://www.shapeways.com/product/RZGLM996K/1-16-sherman-tank-towing-shackles-style-i I also scal...
Short update: I'm still fiddling with the main body and how various parts will attach. I'll have some photos of test shots to share this weekend. Mainly running gear, tracks, etc.
Good question YT. Production is on track and I have everything I need to finish the kits. Unless something comes up or the government needs to implement a priority only shipping mandate we should be good.
A few updates: - Exhaust detailed - Fender traction detail added - Running gear almost complete - Hollowed out the turret and hull - Various bits and bobs added Major to-do's: - Guns - Turret hatch mechanical - Snap tracks test fit - Details and vision slits for various hatches and ports - Antenna a...
I made a Panzer I for myself several years ago. I recently decided to re-make the kit. My in-house equipment has evolved quite a bit since then. Those of you who have purchased recently items can attest. This offer is only valid for SSMHQ members. Here is the original version: https://i.imgur.com/1U...
Good questions. I made full set of tracks for my Panzer I and they turned out well. The biggest challenge was connecting them all together. I've had great results lately with snap fit parts which you see on several of the heavy machine guns like the Nambu and the Maxim. Let me see if I can adapt tha...
Good question. That last batch was mainly based on requests from the community.
I still have a number of partially finished items that I committed to complete by months end so there will be a bit more released over the coming days.
When the Troop Car first came out ten years ago I came to the conclusion that it most closely resembled a Stoewer R200 which was a light PKW Kfz.1 so that's what I converted mine into. https://i.imgur.com/442STCs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qtERZs0.jpg Actual Stoewer R200: https://i.pinimg.com/originals...
Thank you guys for the positive comments and suggestions. Two of these door panels will convert an Indiana Jones troop car into a German PKW. I plan to include a front and rear Notek light set with the kit. https://i.imgur.com/cNJTSITl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/deAMgGel.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kyWxGop...
FoV version of the MG42 mount. Note that the FOV mount is slightly tighter than the 21C mount so they are _not_ interchangeble. For those of you that already ordered some, I marked 21C or FOV on the underside of the mounting bracket. https://i.imgur.com/ImiLJasl.jpg Kar98k with a sling (Thanks to Ed...
I agree with Pickel, and if you like the ones on ebay from Peddinghaus, you can contact them directly and Ernst has been willing to scale them to 1:18 for me. It does cost more as a one - off request. The decals I used on the KDF kubelwagen were 1:16 on a 1:18 Beetle and I think they turned out well.
Thank you for the input. These should all be ready by the end of (this) January. I would love to see one of these live, but the videos are very good with some almost movie like elements. Very different from the US events where you can see large crowds of civilians, roped areas, etc breaking the immersion. Operation "Iskra" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAGjeDeBIpQ The Russian ...
