Re: Just saw the Movie "Fury"
I would say a lot of movies glamorize war almost in sort of a feel good manner. This movie really drives home just how ugly war can be on so many levels. Muddy, gritty, far less civilized, immediate and permanent, with a lot of emphasis on how it hardens the soul. Acting is great, lots of equipment ...

Maybe it's just the camera focal length producing exaggerated perspective. There's a side shot that shows the propeller hub here.

Never the two shall meet. 1/18 holds a special place in my heart and I just can't mix 1/18 and 1/16. Dedicated shelves for the different scales.
Eventually, the 1/35 Karl Morser is going to have to find a new location when the pickelhaube JagdTiger arrives.

It has good and bad points like just about any of them. Happy to have it, especially at the price. Packaging could be a lot better.
Haven't seen an IR version yet. So, this one is airsoft with the recoil that resembles a small startled dog.

Hi guys, for those who could be interested, here are some pics from Asiatam 1/16 FAMO. It'a a big beast that weight a bit more than 6kg (13.22lb) made from metal. Honestly, it's a real piece of art full of détails. I hope those pics will show you the high quality of this impressive model. Of course...

Re: 1st Series Hanomag Track Separation?
You may have a point. Glues can age and breakdown. It could be worse. Bad chemical interactions between the rubber/vinyl tracks and the plastic.
I can't find the any of articles, but some plastic soldier figures outgas chemicals and eventual start to fall apart.

Re: 1st Series Hanomag Track Separation?
Maybe Pliobond , it's an industrial grade contact cement. That's what a camera repairman I know uses to glue rubber grips back onto cameras. Apparently there are several different formulations, not sure which would be best. "PLIOBOND is the best choice for seaming, splicing, and bonding of gaskets,...

For the 31.5 inch wingspan, 1/16 is about right. I think the company, Authentic Models, made some models in multiple scales, like the Fokker Dr.1 and Sopwith Camel.

Sopwith Camel medium
Sopwith Camel small

Re: What is in the future of our Beloved 1/8th Scale
Recently, I've bought a couple of the Heng Long 1/16 tanks out of curiosity. While i like them, the size difference is both impressive and an issue. They are larger to the point that I'd need to either display them at an angle and reduce the number of tanks on display or get bigger shelves. 1/18 wor...

I just purchased a base model HL Tiger 1 and have what is probably going to sound like a really dumb question. Can you turn turret manually without damaging the tank? Just worried about damaging gears or the mount the mechanism is on. On my copy, the turret seems a bit loose (side to side movement)...

What a deal!
I've had my eye on their Spad for years, but just couldn't feel comfortable about the $350 or so that it was selling for.

Re: Remote on/off switch
It's not going to solve you're remote switch, just throwing out some ideas. How about putting a rechargeable battery in the drop tank, with metal contacts that complete the circuit? Remove the drop tank to recharge the battery. The drop tank could be the power source and act as the switch.
