Re: Question about 1/6 figures
Microwaving water up to the boiling point is dangerous. Microwaving water resists boiling and inserting any object can make the water kind of explode. Better to use a pot on the stove to boil the water. TTT I know the reaction you're talking about. I haven't had any problems though because I don't ...

Re: Question about 1/6 figures
There are bendy hands available that can be shaped to fit whatever weapon or other object you like. DiD, Soldier Story, Dragon and other companies have made bendy hands. With a little modification you can fit different manufacturers hands to different bodies. Having said that I absolutely hate bendy...

Re: [+] Custom RSO/1
That RSO is actually from a kit. The guy that built it is a very prolific 1:6 vehicle and figure builder and he can be found on many 1:6 forums. His name is Eduardo and he goes by the user name "egonzinc". His work always amazes me. Here are some threads from the Sixth Army Group with more pictures ...

Re: Been customizing the wrong scale!
If you're an excellent customizer you can make good money in whatever scale you're working in. An extremely limited edition figure by the well known 1:6 customizer Rainman that recently sold on eBay is a good example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lee-Van-Cleef-handmade-custom-figure-Rainman-12-1-6-/270718994...

Re: All Go updates its website...no surprises...
I don't do 1:32 but this is promising news from All Go. I don't understand why they don't do some quick unaltered reissues to generate some quick income. Just use the same molds and the same paintjobs with updated packaging designs. If they reissued the right items they should sell well if the price...

That's another one. They are not so much, I prefer the BBI. Don't no how to put many pictures into one message, I loose everytime the SSMH page when going to Photobucket, who can help me? Try opening SSMHQ and Photobucket in 2 separate browser windows. Open your browser and then you can simply doub...

Re: PTE Recons
actually, i meant the chinese FAV, sorry to not be clear....does anyone know what it's really called? I did a good bit of searching and as far as I can tell it's called the LYT-2021. If you do a Google image search for that designation then lots of images of it turn up but unfortunately most of the...

Re: PTE Bridgeset is on sale at JCPenny
I took a look at their website. The search system is wonky but if you check the "Toys/Boys/Pretend Play" section it looks like all of their PTE sets are listed there. I didn't see anything new but for those that have had no luck at Big Lots then these are the PTE sets besides the Bridge Set on their...

Re: Red Baron DrI?
...The triplane has become the plane he's identified with, but I've actually started liking the Red Baron's Albatros better. Just looks faster, sleeker and sexier. But I'm scared of trying to build one. I have to agree that the Albatros planes he flew were very cool looking. I built a 1:48 model of...

Re: Red Baron DrI?
I started one of these kits back in the 70's when I was a kid. I think it was an SE5a but I never finished it. I haven't built any type of model in years but I'm thinking of giving one of these kits another try. I looked at some pictures of builds in progress of the Dr1 and noticed that many of the ...

it's not a t-90.....it's a chinese type 95 tank... I think it's a Type 98. At least that's what I've always seen it referred to as. I did a google search for "Chinese Type 95 tank" and couldn't find any references to such a vehicle in Chinese service. They do have a light machinegun that's designat...

If you use dye then make sure it works on synthetics materials. I did a quick search and found a 2 part video on YouTube that might come in helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUENb-vDMOY&feature=related OTOH you said you wanted to paint it up as scenery so that may be totally useless. I think many Americans simply find the French annoying because they are perceived as obstructionists. In the modern era this probably goes back to France's refusal to allow American aircraft overflight privileges for the 1986 air raid on Libya and it has continued over the past few decades with othe...

Ostketten, Testors Dullcoat is also great for dulling the shine. It works great and can be found in hobby shops or some craft stores like Michaels. Blasto I like what you've done with the insignia. That looks good. Very nice job on the smock. One thing to note for those wanting to make custom FJ's is that not all the smocks were of the step in variety. Most later types looked much like a long coat with snaps at the bottom that could be snapped together to form the leg openings. There are many ...
