How is the Matilda repainted? I just did one in the Battle of France(1940) scheme myself.

I have to admit that it was a pleasant surprise to discover them. I found mine(Paladin, AAV) here in NJ. They had four of each along with the older selection of Shermans and helicopters. I dont mind finding out about them this way as long as I can post the find here and let everyone else know. The a...

New FOV Paladin and AAVP

I was surprized to find a couple new FOV vehicles in my local TRU today. Both were priced at $24.95 each. They are a 1/32 Paladin, a self propelled howitzer and a Amphibious Assult Vehicle (AAVP7A1). They are excellent models. The AAVP rolls like a Hotwheels car and has five hatches that open and th...

FOV Matilda repaint help needed

I am reworking a Matilda II into the 1940 paint scheme as used in the battle of France. I am looking for a source of photos and images of how the tanks were painted. I have the basic green scheme down now but I need to see how the various markings appeared. I am doing a 4th or 7th Royal Tank Brigade...

The Monogram truck, sold as a M35, was actually an M34. The big difference was that the M35 had dual rear wheels while the M34, which is represented by the Monogram model, has single rear wheels. The M34 was actually developed from the M35. The idea of the single rear wheel is that the truck would h...

Yes it does seem a bit thin. When you compare to the FOV Tiger I, the barrel is down right skinny. When compared to the 88 on the FOV King Tiger, they are about the same size. I have not actually measured them, but to the eye, they look too thin. Also, the FOV Jagdpanther is the early version with t...

The trick is to slide them down onto the tabs. You can snap them on right from the front but it is hard to do. Line them up on the sides on so the mounting tabs are located at the bottom of the slots of the skirts (look behind and line them up) and slide them down. It may take a bit of force to do t...

FOV Jagdpanther repaint

I did a little work on "lightening up" the weathering job on the FOV Jagdpanther. The tank in the forground has been repainted with a light coat of panzer yellow with a 1944 two color camo scheme. I used some leftover Tamiya decals from the Jagdpanther I built during the summer. I gave it a wash of ...

My comparisons are ballpark, just to clear that up. Dimensions and proportions are the keys here. The Stug IV that 21st makes is a good example. The rear idler wheel is about 1/8 of an inch too far back from the rearmost road wheel. This isnt a big deal until proportion comes into play. That little ...

Actually, neither turret is correct. The FOV is pretty close in proper dimension and porportion.. The front top plate of the turret is supposed to be equal width from front to back. On the 21st turret, the top front plate is wider at the front edge than at the back edge. The 21st turret is more corr...

How many FOV Pershings...

I was wondering if anybody has a solid figure on how many M26 Pershings made it to the ETO before the end of the war. I have a couple books and one says 200 were used while another book says 310 made it over there. Both books (as well as the data card included in the FOV model) agree that the weight...

Many of the "playability" problems with FOV can be fixed with a little modification here and there. I just finished working on my FOV Iraqi T72. The main gun barrel would not depress or go "level". Since the usual Iraqi tank has the gun barrel fully depressed(and burned out), I disassembled the tank...

Also, I would love to see FOV do a T34/76 and a SU 85 with this hull.

It is one of the better releases. Good paint and weathering. Good tracking and excellent suspension. The two hatches on the turret open and the drivers hatch/vision port also opens. There are two engine hatches that open. There is a main deck hatch and the small round hatch on the back slope of the ...

A small drill would work too. The heated pin can cause too much distortion if you are not careful.

FOV Pershing M26

My new Pershing arrived today from George at MinutemanTS. The model is pretty decent. It sits well and has the porportions that make the Pershing a stand out. Not too many add on details other than the .50 cal machine gun, tow cable and the aerial. All attached easily. There are four hatches:Command...

I jumped to my Microsoft Explorer to see if it works. With AOL, I have to log in at each page and it still doesnt show me as on. Is there something qwith AOL that I can take care of at my end? Thanks to P51 for the "regrouping" site for the regiment...
