Re: The New XL-15 is Great!
Yeah, the film has come and gone, lol. Lightyear was supposed to be an origin story for the “actual” character the Buzz Lightyear toy from Pixar’s classic 1995 Toy Story film was based on, or rather the movie the kid in Toy Story saw that made him want the Buzz Lightyear action figure. It wasn’t a t...

The New XL-15 is Great!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a review here, but if you’re into scifi ships, star fighters, etc. the new Disney-exclusive XL-15 ship from the recent Pixar film, Lightyear, is worth getting 8) https://i.postimg.cc/DwqNdfgM/3-F244-E3-C-FC71-4-D9-C-8-A19-9719-B7-D7-E8-F7.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/...

Re: Elite Force Naval Gunboat
The ProBoats R/C Alpha Patrol Boat is 1/18 scale and a great representation of the Vietnam era PBR which often ferried the Navy Seals. I have one on display in my hobby room which always draws peoples attention. I’ve got to agree with the comments on the Pro Boat PBR model! I got one when they came...

Re: 1/18 Hetzer VS Ostwind
Hetzer all the way :D Like Normandy said, we don’t have one of those in 1/18 scale and it’s a neat little tank hunter that saw a much greater production number and use than the Ostwind ever did. Plus it will look cool in a variety of ambush scenes and setups, much like my little 1/30 scale vignette ...

Re: How does the Power Team Little Bird compare to BBI's?
I have both and can get some pics later today of the two side by side, but both are quite different. The PTE Littlebird is much more toyish (thicker/more rugged landing skids, rotors, etc) and the details are generally simpler. It’s shape is also off, with the tail boom being somewhat shorter and th...

Re: is this the World Peacekeepers Aerial Rocket Helicopter?
Aferg, that is a repaint of the PTE World Peacekeepers Aerial Rocket Helicopter (Chinese Z-9).The fuselage is indeed closer to 17”, though overall length with the rotors is closer to 20” - under scale, but still a believable size. It’s a great toy/model and one of the best PTE helicopters in terms o...

Finally got a JSI Black Knights F-14!
I was debating whether or not to resurrect an 11-12 year old thread, but just decided to make a new post… Anyways, I managed to snag an MIB JSI VF-154 Black Knights F-14 for $499.95 from Aiken’s Airplanes  It was listed in their June 3 newsletter under their “Lost But Now Found” section and I...

Re: A fantasitc new Acid Rain World vehicle. Perfect for Joes!
I got the Acid Rain Anklyo last week from BigBadToyStore and it’s a gem! I’ve not collected much of the Acid Rain lineup to date but have outfitted the vehicle with Joy Toy 1/18 figures (some pics below). Are the Acid Rain figures a little smaller than Joy Toy or are they similar in size? Anyways, t...

Re: 1/18 kits at my local Hobbytown
Nice find, Harry 8) The Hobby Town USA store that used to be in my area had a fantastic selection of model aircraft kits and they carried the 1/18 Hobby Boss 1/18 scale kits. They last got in the ME-262 before the store closed in 2021. I was able to get a look at the parts and it was basically an un...

Re: Any Interest In An Iraqi T-72 ?
A T-72 is definitely a must in terms of 1/18 modern armor. It’s one of those vehicles I’m surprised none of the manufacturers made back in the day, along with other important types like the T-34 and King Tiger (I know 21st prototyped a KT, but it was never released). The closest we ever got to a 1/1...

Axis and Aferg, great to see some old timers posting again!
I’ve known about the mold lines on my XD Spitfire canopies for years… They are present on the canopies of all the XD Spitfires I own (NKK, ZPA, DWK) and never bothered me. The XD Spitfire is still a great model after all these years

Re: New GI Joe Skystriker
I’m very tempted to back this… I know it’s not 1/18 but it appears to be far superior to the “retooled” Skystriker from a few years back that is both faithful to the original while being something new. There’s also the nostalgia factor… I never did get the original 1983 Skystriker as I was too young...

Customized Corps ATK Mission Vehicle
In an attempt to get back into the swing of things after a bit of a hiatus with customization and kit building, I undertook a simple “warmup” project to customize an old Corps ATK Mission vehicle into something a bit more realistic... Tamiya sprays, Ammo Mig washes and Tamiya weathering powders were...

Re: It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I thought some might fine this interesting, schrol down to the 109e
Good to see you around, chunks! And interesting on a kit version of the BF-109E soon to be available from Hobby Boss. That’s one of the original 1/18 aircraft toolings and I imagine some builders will do some good work with that kit… I’ve got several of those ‘109s already, including the JSI “Gallan...

Re: The 1/18's that never happened (but i thought they would)
It is very curious to see what got made and what didn’t… Like Aferg said, I am very surprised we never got an F-4 Phantom in 1/18. Admiral Toys even had one prototyped years ago. 21st made an announcement about doing a Phantom as well as a B-25 and Mig-21. Those were just that - announcements - as t...

Here are some quick pictures I took of my BBI S1 F-18 hanging in my garage. The pictures were taken Tuesday evening around dusk. Garage light was on, though I used my camera flash. My model is definitely very dusty, but I don’t quite see something resembling the green color that Aferg is referring t...

Re: Yellowed BBI models
Aferg, great to see you back! As for the yellowing, I’ve heard about using some kind of hydrogen peroxide solution, but that pertained more to white plastic that had yellowed on vintage toys, not grey plastic. I’ve never tried it. My BBI first-series F-18 has mostly hung out in my garage since I mov...

Re: Marauder Gun Runners - Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 Scale Figure Kickstarter
This MTF Vietnam War Kickstarter campaign has done amazingly well! As of yesterday it was at $361,000 (original goal of $64,000) and has unlocked 19 stretch-goal figures over the original four planned. The most recent unlocked figure is a USAF Fighter Pilot and it looks like there’s an MP with dog, ...
