International Shipping

I just picked up a package shipped from Canada. The Canadian Postal Service handled it fine. I just had to deal with my usual indifferent and disrespectful local US postal worker/clerk when Ii picked up the package.

I actually used to like to go our Post Offices.

Playset Search

OK, ignore my previous post. Try this playset from HG Toys: http://www.plaidstallions.com/hgtoys/playset.html I also shopped at Children's Palace. I used to buy all of my 12" Marx Best of the West figures there. Yet the coolest "real" toy store in Columbus was Kiddie Korner in Graceland and Kingsdal...

1/18 German paras

Try the toy soldier shows. I picked up 7 for $2 a piece at the recent Michigan Toy Soldier show. I had the same luck last year with the paras and all of the 21st Vietnam figures.

Playset Inquiry

Your playset actually sounds like a game my neighbor had in the late 70s. I don't remember the figures, but the large gameboard, the subs, bombers, and the battleships were all in the game. The spring-loaded subs and PT-boats could shoot missiles that broke-up the battleships. I think it was a Milto...

Franklin Mint sale

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and bought the vehicles. I also added the USS Missouri model. The 1/24 Sherman was not available for the discount, so I passed on it. As a kid I recieved the pewter FM Civil War set and the FM pewter US Soldiers set with the display. I cringe to see how much they c...

Franklin Mint is offering the M1A1 Abrams and the Humvee for 60% off. Would these be good deals? Or will the excess stock be sold off to Tuesday Morning and be available at a lower price?

Discount Mrechandise

I did a quick run through the usual "suspects" today. Very little Lemax inventory left at Michaels and Loews. No discounting or closeouts yet at our TRU, WM, and Target. The brick stores appear to have their inventories under control this year. I still expect the closeouts to appear soon. Unlike the...

Quonset Hut

These quonset huts are in New Ray 1/32 sets. Green for military, red and white for Fire Department, and yellow for Construction. Some of the toy soldier dealers, like Michigan Toy, may have these palysets available.

Except for the tankers these figures have not shown up in Central Ohio Targets. Is it possible these are being test-marketed in certain areas. All of the other new FOV/Unimax items are hear and on the shelves.

Has anyone else seen these figures west of Los Angeles? The local Targets have all of the other new FOV figures and vehicles, but no sight of the 1/32 figures.

Tuesday Morning had a case or more of IJ figures. They were a combination of figures from the Raiders, Crusade, and the Crystal Skull. Marshall's and TJ Maxx's have the KCS mountain temple playsets for $12.99. They include 2 IJ figures. Also, there are still some vehicles showing up on the shelves. ...

Night at the Museum 2

I took my boys to see this film yesterday. I did notice a lot of items that could have been "my toys." My 9-year-old recognized the BBI Romans in a moving crate. I remember a Spitfire, 109, Mustang or P-40, and maybe a Stuka. I would have to see it again to clarify.

First time

I learned about XD through the 1/32 ads. The first items were the Panther and Kubelwagon, shortly followed by the Sherman and Jeep, and the series 1 troops. All of these were purchased at TRU ten years ago. Time does fly when you are having fun!

These were the IJ 1/18 figures and vehicles, plus the small scale IJ titanium figures. I did see FOV 1/32 8th Army infantry in TJ's several times. These may have been Target castoffs. Also, the Bitz figures are nice "puzzles" of medieval knights and soldiers. These are aproxiamately 1/24 scale and w...

Big Lots, Marshall's, and TJMaxx have appeared to have sold their remaining IJ figures and vehicles. I haven't seen anything in stock over the past two weeks. Locally, Tuesday Morning sold out the Corgi planes and tanks months ago.

Yes. The Hellcat. The anti-tank, opened-turret US vehicle. My mistake on the designation model.

Didn't the M-41 Walker Bulldog come carded, as well? I think there may have been another vehicle, too. All of them were a different color shade from the original vehicles at TRU.

I saw all of the Italian fighter planes at a local Walmart yesterday. I did pick up two of the original Walmart "hanging plastic" US M-10 Tank detroyers. I had only seen these items maybe 5 years ago. I have to think Walmart is sending out the last of the warehouse items.

After opening all of my new Panthers, I noticed the commander figures had no paint details on their faces. No eyes, lips, or any highlights like other 21st figures. The wire headseat is painted on, but no other details. The head is merely the color of the plastic cast. Is this just a lack of quality...
