Re: DragonUSA plans for this year

This is kind of general. Really nothing at all. I'm disappointed.

Re: Has this forum lost its way? YOU BE THE JUDGE!

How can a military toy forum with such and eclectic and eccentric membership ever lose its way? There still seems to be plenty of action on the toy side, the trading is moving right along and the "Off Topic" section seems to be active. It certainly isn't this forum that is lost. If anything it is th...

Re: Google Adverts

What you say IS true. But. My site has >160 pages. Google ads on every one. Since it is a Dinosaur (toys) related site I would expect Dinosaur toy related ads but I found a lot of ads for the NHL(?) Raptors and some (I think it is Ford) truck or car. I did eliminate those particular URLs. But for me...

Re: New "Members"

I don't know that it is possible to keep anyone from registering with a forum. But the spamming at this site is very minimal at most and I can't remember when I have come across any at all. That is thanks to the moderators and the members who report it. The 1/285 pfc-cinc forum was overrun with spam...

Re: Has this forum lost its way? YOU BE THE JUDGE!

Of course i'm not a newcomer but I never have sensed a negative "aura" towards newcomers. I have sensed a strong negative response to stupidity, selfishness, spamming and general rudeness, however. This is the best forum I am on or ever been a member of. Despite the occasional run-in with the modera...

Re: vortex cannon.

Very cute. What would the range be on that thing? The outhouse of straw just seems to collapse in aheap while the stick outhouse gets thrown over. The bricks had neither supporting elements nor mortar. Would it have any effect on a real, solid building or other structure?
Still. An intriguing concept.

Re: Google Adverts

The site itself has no real control over what Google chooses to place. Generally they are supposedly of interest to people who access the site but that is often very tangential, at best, and occasionally the reasoning is indecipherable.

There must be something out there though. I only went two pages deep in to the search (although Dragon 1/72s were starting to show up there).

Have you google-searched looking for personal pix of this?

Lots of arguablies on this topic, that's for sure.

The KV-II, then, was in fact the first assault gun. An infantry combat support weapon. Yes?

Cruisers perhaps. DDs & DEs. You gotta go Maus to reach BB level. I'd put the Tigers and gthe IS-II & III at, maybe, just maybe the l,evel of a land-CB.

Defeat is for those who give up my friend.

I don't think that multi-turreted necessarily means "battleship." I am thinking of the "dreadnaught" concept- super heavy gun with super armored chassis. Slow but "undefeatable."

I suspect that the Russians simply didn't have the industrial know-how to even consider the technically complicated designs that the Germans took for granted. Also I think the Russians were terrified of the Germans and simply went to their strong suit- lots of simple weapons. The Germans were arroga...

The Maus is just absurd. A land battleship of extreme size yet on the small end of what was planned. It was also just a tank on steroids. The KV-II had a certain mis-shapen charm. Like a kid with a really big head.
