Cabe, thanks for the link. There is a Hobby Lobby not too far from me, so I printed out a copy of the coupon and will check them out.
I tend to forget that they do carry an assortment of modeling supplies and some of their craft stuff can sometimes be used for modeling too.
Cheers

Thanks for the input. Now I need upper hangers too. I bought an additional RC new millennium model off of EBay and it arrived with four of the upper Schrutzen armor brackets broken. I think the RC controller got loose in the box and its antenna did the damage, but regardless some of the broken brack...

Alumalite--Has anybody used this stuff for making parts
I am in the process of customizing a 1:18 Panzer IV model. One is an RC new millennium and one is a copy of the same being sold currently on EBay by Chinese importers. These both appear to have been made from the 21st Century molds. However, they do not have the support arms for the lower tank body ...

The first figures that came out with the Bf109 and P51 at less than 3.5 inches were definitely undersized, but they over corrected and went to 4 or 4.2 inches on all the rest which makes everybody 6 ft to 6 ft 3inch tall---and I'm not talking lanky 6 footers, but broad shouldered beefy 6 footers wit...

Actually, I'd be happy if they just made the damn figures to scale instead of the 6 foot 4 inch "Hulk Hogans" that they put out. Hardly any of them fit in the vehicles correctly. The Germans tend to be even larger than the G.I.'s, but they are all just too damn big for 1/18th. Sorry to rant, but I a...

I think the next Hen Long tank may be the Pz IV. Some European hobby shops have it, but there may not be enough produced yet for it to show up in the E-Bay importer's inventory yet. What they really need is an airsoft T34, but then this is a tank that 21st Century should have modeled long before the...

I worry a bit now with FOV figures. They seem to be made of a more 'rubbery' plastic. So I run them under hot water and try to pull the limb out. Then I put some vaseline on the post and stuck it back in. : Be careful using Vaseline. It doesn't happen with all plastics, but Vaseline is a petroleum ...

Thanks, I kind of figured that I had a little flexibility. I have acquired several books on the Pz IV's and have learned that just like the fact that all the models overlap a bit, that at various points during war, painting in the field was quite hap-hazard from unit to unit. I hope it comes out wel...

Camouflage application question
I am just about to finish the physical part of a Panzer IV customization project and hope to start painting soon, but have a question about that part. When applying camo to German armor, should the various tools, cables, and other attachments be painted to match the camo job, or should they retain t...

Just thought I'd mention that there is a loose, beat up, dusty, and played with 21st C Jeep that may be even missing parts on EBay right now. The bidding was up to $50 plus shipping last time I looked and there is still a day to go. I could kick myself for letting one of the Gates Jeeps get away few...

It's just plain greed. Was anyone bidding on it? It was all bidding. The listing started out at like $40 or $50, and it stayed around $75 for a few days then today it just took off. There were like 20 or more bids on it. Just a few days ago a business out of Florida going by the name "Three Geckos"...

Are these people nuts or what?
I happened to book-mark an XD Winter Panther that was up for auction on EBay. I wasn't interested in buying because I generally am not going to shell out the kind of money these big hunks of Chinese plastic are bringing. I have one standard model and that will do me until the re-paint that we are he...

Warming: kind of a long war story When I got back from Vietnam in Dec 69, I still had 5 months left in the Army. I got assigned to an artillery battalion that was part of the 2nd armored division stationed at Ft Hood, TX. The 2nd Armored wears their large triangular "Hell on Wheels" unit patch on th...

Funny this subject came up. Just in the last week I saw a listing on Ebay for 3 different Patton figures for $13 plus $13 more for shipping. There was only the little symbol of a camera, so there was no photo unless one clicked on the actual item auction. That was kind of high for 3 figures of the s...

All of the Schleich standing figure...

It's Pre-assembled and comes with the controller, 9v controller battery, rechargeable receiver battery, and charger. You get everything you see in the picture except it has some sort of non-descript 50 cal. machine gun included. There are 3 screws recessed into the bottom of the tank that will allow...

Very Good Oliphant. Re: Tank
It looks very similar to the 21st century PZIV. It looks as if the same molds were used, but side skirts added to make it look different. A lot of stuff gets repoped in China without the owners permission. Exactly my thoughts too. The only other change may have been molding all the hatches in, whic...

I got the replacement tank today and I am very pleased. It appears to be a fairly accurate model of Panzer IV (late Aust G, I think) and the scale dimensions check out to be accurate. It didn't come with the Mg34, but I stuck one on for effect. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/forward_observer/P...
