Re: 1/18th Sale at Bad Cat

http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/pulp/meh-cat.jpg Gasp! It's the CGI cat from Litter Genie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa8D0DTIzpo Man there's some strange stuff on TV these days. Blue CGI bears selling toilet paper. CGI tax experts. Just imagine trying to explain that to the IRS, "Well, yeah,...

Re: Keeping your OOB stuff "dust free"?

I use a large size Paint Brush with soft bristles. Gently brush all over and it gets in the hard to reach angles. Wouldn't a vacuum cleaner suck up any loose parts?. I can imagine emptying a bag of filth on the floor to find a small MG mount  I have done exactly that to recover a Stuka antenna...

Re: Keeping your OOB stuff "dust free"?

I've been using an indoor leaf blower by Metrovac called the DataVac Electric Duster. It works a little too well. Much to my heartbreak, it has made several machine guns and antenna masts disappear on some of my 1/72 scale planes. I would say it is relatively 1/35 and 1/18 scale safe. I'll use Scotc...

Re: COLLECTORS OF 1:72, GIVE IN !!!

1:72 has been getting expen$ive. I'm cherry picking examples, but 1:72 M18 Hellcat has a list price of $39.99?
And a 1:16 T-34/85 has a list price of $99.99.

Ditto in Denton. 1/18 and 1/32 items. In Richardson they've had a severely mauled 1/32 scale Mustang for probably a year. Not sure why they don't just junk it.

Re: Red Baron DrI?

I started one of these kits back in the 70's when I was a kid. I think it was an SE5a but I never finished it. I haven't built any type of model in years but I'm thinking of giving one of these kits another try. I looked at some pictures of builds in progress of the Dr1 and noticed that many of the...

Re: 21C 1/18 Figures Become "Sticky"

Armor All? Just kidding!!! I did a google search for sticky action figures and there is so much bad or contradictory advice out there. I suspect most cures are temporary and in the long run, accelerate the breakdown of the plastics. You would think if there were a cure, there would be a market for i...

Re: Red Baron DrI?

Yes, I forgot to mention that one. Closer to 1/13 scale. Built the die cut version in the sixties. It's laser cut now and a lot more precise and pleasant to build. Started the laser cut version (and an SE5), have the various components built, but lost interest while applying the silkspan. I need to ...

I think the Revell 1/28 Dr.I triplane is about the largest plastic model available. I've got it and it's pretty nice.

Arizona Models, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/3 scales.

VK Models, 1/6 scale?

MQ, 1/12 through 1/3.

And a 1/32 Lancaster bomber , Fokker Triplane and 1/200 Bismark . In general, looks like it's going to be VERY expensive. 140 weekly issues (nearly 3 years) for the Tiger and how much per on-going issues? I'm not sure my skills, age or energy level would be up to the task. My initial concern was get...

Up to $150, absolutely. As you rear $200 the Matorro 1/16 becomes an alternative, along with the R/C features as a bonus. Not a fan of the Porsche turret, but understand your reasoning

Sorry dudes, I have lost all faith in seeing anything come out. I have lost my love of the hunt, seeing as how the hunt is off. Not only that but now the prices are so high for me that it's either toys or the mortgage. The only thing I will purchase anymore would be figures. But not repaints, NEW f...

Every once and a while, over the past ten or so years of collecting 1/18, I'll reflect on the good fortunes of being able to buy a sizable model at what I thought was a low price (averaging around $50?) None of them were absolutely perfect, but I accepted it as part of the price vs. quality trade-of...

Re: 190's-262's

Greetings: The 190's and 262's in my opinion were some of the worst models they made. Many many people complained about broken parts and lack of quality on both models, especially the ME-262's. I know someone who went through four of them just to get a good one. That is unacceptable in a marketplac...

I know it's just wishful thinking and a fantasy long shot, but there is that movie, Panzer88 , centered around a King Tiger crew, that will be released in 2011. It sounds like they're military hardware fanatics too. They might be supportive. Strike up a deal with them, like they did with Sky Captain...
