Something that is a little expensive and requires some handwork is to buy a small adjustable (pan and tilt) CCTV camera mount with the standard threaded bolt and locknut. Buy some Sculpey Original Modeling clay http://www.allartsupplies.com/item.php?articleId=1946&PHPSESSID=3b8e39a99c60de6f963ce905b...

You can tell that products built for this market allow for very little post-release feedback into the development chain. In other words, once you build one you're not going to change much until you decide to completely redo the whole thing. This is the perfect example - the broken prop issue is deal...

TRU in Lewisville, TX had 6 of the AVG re-releases and a handful of the little 1:144 packages.

The only other WWII airplane in stock was a 1:32 Forces of Valor P-51.

The only good that's coming out of this is your collection of 1:18 aircraft is going to go up in value, long term. It's the law of supply and demand. Expenses have climbed. It isn't profitable to make them at the previous price points. Now fewer people can afford to buy them. Interest wanes because ...

The P-47 landing gear is a bit like the issues with the P-38. You have to make compromises sometimes or the product becomes impractical to mass produce at a price-point that makes sense. If you have a C21 P-38 you realize the weight that would be required to allow the bird to sit if the main gear we...

Not knowing anything about ground items, what is the actual size of the market for aviation models vs. stuff stuck on terra firma? Granted, this is a biased view, but air shows are among the biggest fan draws - more people see them than even attend NASCAR events. Frankly, getting armor into the main...

I think WalMart has dumped the C21 1:18 products and anything that shows up is their automated attempt to route leftover product into markets where it seems to have sold in the past. We have to face the fact that WM's product manager/buyers aren't exactly into our hobby. We see history, they see num...

Amazing what can be accomplished with skill, time, dedication and resources.

Putting something like that together commercially for a museum display would run into four figures.

The man really loves his airplane and the story behind it.

A dose of reality from someone who deals with consumers facing far worse: Skip those 21-per-month daily sodas from the machine at work and you're nearly half way there to a new bird. Anything in the field-applied camo version of the 56th would be nice, and Gabby's would be the 1st preference to go along side the signed photo from some years back. Frankly, I think the alleged gunsight/antenna issues are meaningless for about 99% of potential buyers. If you want 100% accuracy and ...

Engineering wise, the P-51B is a little more involved than one might think. The wings aren't the same. The B had four .50's, not six, and they weren't aligned along the leading edge like the D's. Obviously, the fuselage is completely different. About the only things usable are the prop, aeilerons, f...

You're misinterpeting - I should have put in a comma. Any P-51B would be great, BUT Gentile's would be a major seller as compared to other lesser-known aces.

1st choice - definitely a 1:18 Gabareski or Schilling P-47.

2nd - any P-51B but Don Gentile's "Shangri La" would be a huge seller and Howard's "Ding Hao" is a personal favorite.

3rd - later model Corsair (4 blade).

But - where is the B-25?
