Re: Bronco 1/35 Scale U-Boot Type XXIII Kit Build-in-Progres

Excellent job on that.

I have a question on the kit , does it give any option to make it waterline ?

One day I will get around to posting pictures but I have an in progress diorama in 1 32 of my fictional german secret weapons factory and a U boat would go very well.

Re: Atlantic Wall/ Normandy Naval Gun

I have never really liked K & C as I feel the figure tend to be to "cartooney" and the mixed scales of the vehicles I also consider to be a poor mistake. However not all there stuff fits in to the above description and if had unlimited funds there are indeed K&C pieces I would buy but back to the OP...

If it was not for the price First Legion would be what I collect.

£50 a figure : ( but in all honesty they are the best.

Re: FOV GMC 2.5 CARGO TRUCK WITH 4X 0.5 MG

It does look ok but the price means I have to be very selective of what I buy now and this will not be one of them.

On the price did you notice the Jeep with trailer is a wopping £49.99 and I am fully expecting the Motorcycle combination re issue to be the same price :(

For me I looked at the Jeep last night but my problem was the price £49.99 ($78).

The original Jeeps you can still get here for around £20.

Re: FOV 1/32 88 flak Normandy 80234 Mini-review

I actually bought the gray flak 2 days ago from modelzone newcastle (UK) and the prime move (yellow) for 29.99 and 39.99 in there sale.

They had quite a good few pieces at similar prices but very chuffed with the flak at that price. Bothe of those were the last ones.

I will probably buy the Horch and a couple of panzer IIs but I have to say yesterday I took a long hard look at the jeep at £16.99 and considering I bought 20 of the cararama ones for £1 each I decided against this one. Not being funny but they had the new Marine landing craft alongside the jeep bot...

If you think K&C are a bit on the expensive side take a look at http://www.firstlegionltd.com/54mmwwiistalingradgermans.aspx I actually do not rate K&C as they have scale problems and I definately have them down as cartoony but the first legion offerings are soo impressive that even at £45 a figure ...

While the jeep I am sure will be excellant and I will be tempted the money issue is becoming a real issue for me on these.

The hongwell jeep above I bought twenty of at £1 each and I can still get them for about £3. The problem for me is that the Hobbymaster one will retail for about £17.

"Was the K1 actually that much bigger than the T34?" yep you always used to get the impression that the german panzers badly outclassed anything the allies had but compare that Panzer III to the KV1 (nearly twice the size at 45 tons) with much heavier armour and you can see that is not really true. ...

They do not actually do a 1/72 scale as such they do have a line that some of the pieces are very close to 1/72 in particulaty the Halftrack and greyhound but some go as low as about 1/80 and generally there all a bit so so. The Halftrack is ok but the FOV is much better and Hobbymaster have a greyh...

You can not fairly compare a t34 to a Panther the panther was a much heavier tank and hit the battlefield nearly 3 years after the T34 and in war time that is ages that it was superior is hardly surprising. Oh and 20 tetrarch tanks were succesfully landed in Normandy by Glider to help the airborne a...

It is not even just a question of performance or stats but of timeframe. For example compairing a Pershing tank vs a T34 is hardly fair as one hit the battlefield at least 5 years before the other and in war time that is like decades. Equally to compare a ME262 to a Spitfire is not exactley fair eit...
