Altaya tanks hit the UK

http://tanks.deagostini.co.uk/ Much to my surprise as I went for last minute Christmas shopping I was confronted by issue 1 of "combat tanks" the part works 1/72 tanks that have been selling in Europe for the last few years (there is even now a second series in europe of just German ww2 vehicles). S...

King and country para jeeps

Does anybody out there own any of the K&C recce jeeps that could put up a phot with one alongside traditional 54mm troops eg Conte or similar.

I know many of the K&C vehicles do dip down to 1/32 scaels rather than the usual 1/30 and I would really like to be able to use these jeeps.

Model shops in Britain often have the W Britains stuff and In my opinion some of it is very good indeed but the tracks on the armour still puts me off. I do however really like the figures. Incidentally there are a lot of K & C fans and I think I should mention that I believe the Britains vehicles a...

My No1 1 choice would be an LRDG 30cwt truck.

Of course it would need a matching jeep.

to be honest its not as easy as it sounds. I do occasionally attempt to paint vehicles and figures and with a lot of practice my stuff now comes out at a standard that is frankly ... still a bit crap. You do need to try it though some people have a real talent for this sort of thing sadly I am not o...

Not the newest recon ive ever scene on here :) I had a set of these on my Birthday cake for about my 12th birthday (I am 41). If you like them its worth noting that those 6 molds are avilable from several manufacturers in various forms. The good news for you as you like them is that there is about 6...

I am one of those that doesnt really like the K&C vehicles. However they are definately getting better, if they can just keep the scale constant and correct (lol and shrink them a bit) then I would actually buy the stuff. That tractor really does look good even if its of a subject I would never actu...

As always with internet sites accuracy may not be certain but ... http://www.wwiiequipment.com/17pounder.aspx Note the nearly 10,000 17pdr guns made in the UK alone between 1943 and 1945. (ie that is not imported from the commonwealth) As I said before that Tiger is still a deathtrap if hit by one o...

Id actually like to see that as well :) My understanding is normally you would get 3 squadrons of shermans per regiment. (the 4th being recce and stuff) the squadrons being 4 groups of 4 tanks, 4 of which would normally be fireflys. (so 1 in 4) It was also apparently a preference to add another fire...

quoted above is a number less than 100 operational tigers across the whole of the western front, My understainding is that sort of number was common through the whole war on both eastern and western fronts. assuming they are not very expensive i will buy all 6 sets without another thought.

Probably have to be less that $10, £10 to have a real chance at selling.

"why have you vowed that?"

financial reasons and the fact that even my loft has no space left. 1/32 just takes up too much room when you start getting to the 50+ vehicles level.

As long as conte dont release painted plastic WW2 ill be able to hold off.

Latest FOV hits the UK

My latest recon to Modelzone today showed a lot of new goodies. The latest batch of 1/32 had arrived including a very nice Stuart tank that I was quite impressed with , the Flak mounted half track a new scheme T34 and the stug 3 with tank riders. The 1/72 halftrack and howitzer was also there but th...

Finally got a Hobby Master 1/72 Cromwell

This is my first HM tank and I am happy to say this is a great start. The fact that is a true die cast and has a real heft to it gives it a fair edge I think. I will be buying this range. With Dragon, FOV , Admiral , HM and Easy model its truely becoming the golden age for 1/72. What is particularly...
