That stuff looks like Fisher-Price My First War Toys or something similar.  Do Fisher Price do war toys? Early Learning Centre, one of the UK's most common kiddy shops (as far as I know  ), refuse to stock any war toys at all (so not quite sure how they explain their Knights and Pi...

Check out the buyer's history - he's buying quite a few models at prices ranging from fairly sensible (round about $30 for an M4A3 Sherman, an M16 halftrack Quad AA carrier and a Kubelwagen) to somewhat high ($102 each on two Stukas), to this one. Maybe he's just very rich (or is in for a nasty surp...

Helos (minus rotors) and Hornet (minus the starboard wing + tail) on shelves, Falcon on a box(!) in the spare room. :?
Given my druthers, they'd be hanging from the ceiling in my "playroom" but the wife won't let me - says grown men shouldn't be playing with toys

At least you darn colonials get new stuff! Here in Blighty it takes ages to see anything new, if ever. I've only seen ONE LAV this side of the pond, at that was the day I went and bought the Apache :( When I went back, the LAV had gone...  (Not that I'm bitter and twisted, oh no, not me. ...

Re: WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im looking through the 1/18 database in the reference section and I came across a few models that werent made but would be awsome to have, why wouldnt they put these out?? Please put the can of worms down and step away slowly. Oops, too late. Now we'll have all the old favourites resurfacing...

Have you tried using the black tiedown "snakes" from the packaging as rifle slings? I've got a couple of Lanard M16/M4's rigged up but no working digital camera

Nice work. Are the straps sewn or glued?

Not sure about their friends though - the one in the middle looks okay (if a bit of a hippy - has nobody told him the loincloth look is so last year?) but the guy in black definitely looks a little suspect...

Hey, what a great idea! You could have a Great White Hunter armed with something like a Nitro Express Double-ought-Six hunting rifle, and a whole load of people humping the kit for the camp, plus you could do a great conversion for the GWH's female, um, companion , plus you'd probably need a mission...

Re: dude...

And on a last note...the black jet looks like a cross between some sort of Stealth fighter resembling the Aurora project. Looks to me like it's someones' version of a UCAV (Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle) - sort of like a freaked-out Predator on steroids, PCP and every Air Force bean-counters wish-lis...

Re: New to the forums and XD figs

Now I discover these figs on a trip to Walmart for a Barbie doll. Don't look too hard or you'll be even more overwhelmed (possibly) - not only will you find 1/18th but there's a lot of stuff that is Barbie-sized (sort of) 1/6th scale too... not so many vehicles, but there's literally hundreds of fi...

Dunno why, but I just assumed it would be the good old 88 used as a flak gun.
Which is kinda scary when the first pic you see is the Jawas with the gun on their own...

Interesting perspectives. To explain my oddness regarding boxes toys. When SW came out, I would buy duplicates of my figures because of my original figures that had parts break and never quite stayed together with glue. I figured this way I would have a backup in case they break. I'm trying to brea...

I am just glad that they attempted the Apache. It is a nice display model even with it's errors IMHO. Most of my friends and family wouldn't know the difference between an Apache and any other gunship, but those that do know their Indians from their Snakes say "Wow, that's a big Apache" (or whateve...

If the only reason for keeping one in the box is in case you sell it, then keep the best box "sealed".
Unless the damaged old box is more "collectable" even though it's damaged, and worth more than an undamaged Motorworks box.

I'm a bit surprised there haven't been a few conversions of the M113 APC - a nice easy-to-manufacture box on tracks that has been used for almost every AFV role under the sun except for Main Battle Tank... Mortar carrier, Command Post, Band-aid, TOW carrier and so on. Plus the basic 113 chassis and ...

Coupla' thoughts - rather than paint directly onto the plastic and risk a mess, why not paint a strip of masking tape and then cut it to width before sticking it on the plastic? Alternately, you can get vinyl tape for use on flying models in various widths and colours - for those of us who don...

The only black/green "double act" I know of is the Kiowa - BBI did the original in the OD green and then an SFOR version in black. I've got the green "Recon" bird but haven't seen the black one yet - I'd like to get it but wife and wallet may not allow... On a related note, there's a link from...

For the science geeks

If nature abhors a vacuum, why is there so much of it?
