Personnally, I find the Phantom an absolute bore of a plane that underperformed in roles it was never designed for, while the warthog continues to excel in the roles it was planned for from day 1. A-10 outsells F-16s by a long shot. In what reality? Given their druthers, the USAAF was going to send...

I thought of that too, but the 21c announcement says that the F-4 will come with a full load of bombs, missiles and drop tanks. Unless AT includes 2-3 full sets of ordinance it wouldn't be enough to make up the price difference. There's a world of difference between "a full load of bombs, missiles ...

Could someone with a great knowledge of or experience with ORDINANCE used on the F4 in Vietnam, please post a poll . We'd like to know what types of ordinance you'd like to see. As well as a poll, how about links to pics of the hardware? And are you going to include things like ECM pods, laser desi...

I have no suitable references for the NAVY/MARINE type of this aircraft or for that matter the types used but the RAF and the RN but I am sure the F4C with little alteration could also represent these types as well. The RAF/RN versions used the Rolls Royce Spey engines, which meant a complete re-wo...

All in due time. 8) Ah, you're obviously unaware of the current scientific theory that states all time happens at exactly the same instant, it's just Humaniti that experiences it as a constant end-to-end stream... a bit like a train can only be on one part of the track at a...

Re: 262

I got the impression from the article that it will be a do it yourself too. It's right at the bottom that it says "These models will be released as pre-assembled and painted collectibles. They should look very impressive!" Mike Braun, who wrote the review, says he will be building and detailing one...

Aww, man! Me wants one (or two, or three...)!! :D Shame they won't be releasing it as a "do-it-yourself" though - It'd make up for my almost completely non-existant scratchbuilding skills! They wouldn't even need to worry about me making it look a mess either - I'd use the bits for other pro...

...most are too big/small but there is an Augusta 119 that is about 1/18 scale as well. No military application for it but they are used alot for medical emergencies etc. Very similar in appearance to the Augusta 109 (which is military) but with a wider body and single engine. The 119 (Koala) is th...

Foam planes

Gents (and any ladies wandering by who happen to glance in  ), If a model aircraft is designed to fly then the chances are that it will be quite a while before the foam starts to sag if you stick ordinance on it - I had a polystyrene foam "jumbo jet" that had about four foot wingspan and surv...

Good luck with the conversion Aferg - assuming you decide to go ahead with it. With most people, if it looks right, they assume it is right. Better still if you are able to score a pair of BBI AH-64 APACHE Pilots somewhere then you would have super crew as their helmets look to rock. Only problem is, the Apache helmet was developed just for the Apache - it is not a common bonedome for heli crews. The 'dome that comes with these figures ...

I usually don't post in this kinda thread...you know wish lists, but from an armor fan...I am pretty sick of how many planes you aircraft lovers get  and how little tanks we have gotten. If they give us a Mi-24 Hind (preferably from the C model onwards) then we'll have both flying and armor i...

Forward-from-wing and backwards-from-wing propotions are a little out but the C-160 is a pretty good match to the C-27 Spartan as flown by the US Armed Forces... If anyone asks, you could always say it's a prototype stretched version of the Spartan!
