I’m very tempted to order one of these vehicles and I’ve heard very positive reviews. Just can’t decide between either the green or black versions…

Re: New GI Joe Skystriker

I’m very tempted to back this… I know it’s not 1/18 but it appears to be far superior to the “retooled” Skystriker from a few years back that is both faithful to the original while being something new. There’s also the nostalgia factor… I never did get the original 1983 Skystriker as I was too young...

Customized Corps ATK Mission Vehicle

In an attempt to get back into the swing of things after a bit of a hiatus with customization and kit building, I undertook a simple “warmup” project to customize an old Corps ATK Mission vehicle into something a bit more realistic... Tamiya sprays, Ammo Mig washes and Tamiya weathering powders were...

Good to see you around, chunks! And interesting on a kit version of the BF-109E soon to be available from Hobby Boss. That’s one of the original 1/18 aircraft toolings and I imagine some builders will do some good work with that kit… I’ve got several of those ‘109s already, including the JSI “Gallan...

Thanks for the heads up, YT! I’d checked out this Kickstarter before, but forgot it was ending on Monday… I backed it! I remember watching reruns of Airwolf on a local network as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s… Watched it again more recently when it was on Netflix. Fun show - with the catchiest ope...

Re: The 1/18's that never happened (but i thought they would)

It is very curious to see what got made and what didn’t… Like Aferg said, I am very surprised we never got an F-4 Phantom in 1/18. Admiral Toys even had one prototyped years ago. 21st made an announcement about doing a Phantom as well as a B-25 and Mig-21. Those were just that - announcements - as t...

Re: Yellowed BBI models

Here are some quick pictures I took of my BBI S1 F-18 hanging in my garage. The pictures were taken Tuesday evening around dusk. Garage light was on, though I used my camera flash. My model is definitely very dusty, but I don’t quite see something resembling the green color that Aferg is referring t...

Re: Yellowed BBI models

Aferg, great to see you back! As for the yellowing, I’ve heard about using some kind of hydrogen peroxide solution, but that pertained more to white plastic that had yellowed on vintage toys, not grey plastic. I’ve never tried it. My BBI first-series F-18 has mostly hung out in my garage since I mov...

Re: Marauder Gun Runners - Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 Scale Figure Kickstarter

This MTF Vietnam War Kickstarter campaign has done amazingly well! As of yesterday it was at $361,000 (original goal of $64,000) and has unlocked 19 stretch-goal figures over the original four planned. The most recent unlocked figure is a USAF Fighter Pilot and it looks like there’s an MP with dog, ...

Marauder Gun Runners - Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 Scale Figure Kickstarter

For anyone that still browses the SSHQ forum, Marauder Gun Runners just opened a Kickstarter campaign for their new Marauder Task Force Vietnam War 1/18 figure line. The core 4-figure set consists of a US Army Rifleman, US Army Grenadier, Viet-Cong Soldier and Viet-Cong RPG Soldier. There are differ...

Still kicking myself for passing up a Black Knights Tomcat at retail at the local Hobbytown store a decade ago... However, I did get the first VF-84 version, which I repainted to abate the spots, and still have proudly on display 8)

Amazing work on that Stryker, tflenno 8)

It’s a shame that back in the day, none of the other manufacturers (particularly BBI or Unimax) never made a 1/18 Stryker... But again, that is some first rate work on that model!

They do look good... The JoyToy WWII Germans look great as well. I’ve got a few of the Joy Toy modern and sci-fi style figures - and they’re great - but I’ve been holding off on the WWII ones. I guess that’s because I got so many 21st, BBI, and Bravo Team figures back in the day

Picklehaube, your Stug IV is a work of art! And it’s a good reference as well...I did some more research and your model definitely works as a mid-production Stug IV, meaning one can keep the standard exhaust muffler. I hope mine will come out looking as good as yours :D

I used silly putty on this camo job but I was looking for a soft edge.
Awesome! It still looks good. When I first tried the silly putty masking technique on my 1/18 Jagdpanzer model a few months ago, I was readily impressed with how well the technique worked!
