Re: Joy Toy 1/18 WWII Soviet Infantry Review?

I’ve got a set of the Joy Toy Soviet Infantry and German SS troops but have yet to open them. I also have the Marauder Task Force (MTF) WWII figures as well. That said, the Joy Toy figures are closer to 3.75” or 1/18 scale and are noticeably shorter than the MTF figures. Those are 4” figures, so kin...

Re: Turretless Tiger I Recovery Vehicle?

I’ve not heard of this, but then anything seems possible, particularly when it comes to German armor in WWII… It is known the Germans made a Bergetiger/Ladungsleger Tiger variant with a large boom and winch mounted to the turret of a Tiger I tank, though there’s apparently been some debate about whe...

Re: WTF happened to the price of Star Wars figures?

Not sure how much they are selling for in the US but in Canada, 3.75 inch figures are selling for $24-27 each. What???? I remember several years ago when they went up to $10 I was ticked off. I will NEVER buy one at that price or anything even close to that price. Yeah… Long gone are the days when ...

Re: The New XL-15 is Great!

That's pretty neat looking Tman, what did it cost? I could see a cool looking Luft'46 custom made out of that. :) Normandy, it was $69.99 + shipping. Expensive, but cheaper than a lot of similar sized Star Wars ships have been as of late. It’s generated some buzz on some 1/18 scale-themed Facebook ...

Re: The New XL-15 is Great!

Yeah, the film has come and gone, lol. Lightyear was supposed to be an origin story for the “actual” character the Buzz Lightyear toy from Pixar’s classic 1995 Toy Story film was based on, or rather the movie the kid in Toy Story saw that made him want the Buzz Lightyear action figure. It wasn’t a t...

The New XL-15 is Great!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a review here, but if you’re into scifi ships, star fighters, etc. the new Disney-exclusive XL-15 ship from the recent Pixar film, Lightyear, is worth getting 8) https://i.postimg.cc/DwqNdfgM/3-F244-E3-C-FC71-4-D9-C-8-A19-9719-B7-D7-E8-F7.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/...

The ProBoats R/C Alpha Patrol Boat is 1/18 scale and a great representation of the Vietnam era PBR which often ferried the Navy Seals. Hetzer all the way :D Like Normandy said, we don’t have one of those in 1/18 scale and it’s a neat little tank hunter that saw a much greater production number and use than the Ostwind ever did. Plus it will look cool in a variety of ambush scenes and setups, much like my little 1/30 scale vignette ...

Re: How does the Power Team Little Bird compare to BBI's?

I have both and can get some pics later today of the two side by side, but both are quite different. The PTE Littlebird is much more toyish (thicker/more rugged landing skids, rotors, etc) and the details are generally simpler. It’s shape is also off, with the tail boom being somewhat shorter and th...

Re: is this the World Peacekeepers Aerial Rocket Helicopter?

Aferg, that is a repaint of the PTE World Peacekeepers Aerial Rocket Helicopter (Chinese Z-9).The fuselage is indeed closer to 17”, though overall length with the rotors is closer to 20” - under scale, but still a believable size. It’s a great toy/model and one of the best PTE helicopters in terms o...

Re: Any Interest In An Iraqi T-72 ?

A T-72 is definitely a must in terms of 1/18 modern armor. It’s one of those vehicles I’m surprised none of the manufacturers made back in the day, along with other important types like the T-34 and King Tiger (I know 21st prototyped a KT, but it was never released). The closest we ever got to a 1/1...

I’m very tempted to back this… I know it’s not 1/18 but it appears to be far superior to the “retooled” Skystriker from a few years back that is both faithful to the original while being something new. There’s also the nostalgia factor… I never did get the original 1983 Skystriker as I was too young...
