Re: Bachem Natter in 1.18--who is interested

Me too :D Did you get the parts to make the launch tower as well, Normandy? I did. Between the Natter, my TA-183 Huckebein and ME-163 Komet (that I still need to build) from Pizza Guy; my HO-229 fro Picklehaube; as well as my Pegasus V1 Buzz Bomb, I’ll have a sizable Luftwaffe 1946 type collection i...

Re: Revell Apollo

Here are a few pics of my display of 1/24 scale resin models of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo spacecraft. These were made by a company called Toys and Models Corporation, though I think there are several other companies that make the same thing. While they are modeled in their post-re-entry look, ...

Very nice job on the LEM model, cnq! I like that the landing and ascent stages separate. Did the model include any sort of interior?

Re: No more 1/18 Planes?

tman, I love your dioramas of JJD planes & figures. They are excellent models. TG & K&C planes are way over price and don't look good since they have less detail and inferior painting compare to JJD's imo. You’re absolutely correct on the K&C and TGM planes, cnq. I have bought a couple K&C aircraft...

Re: No more 1/18 Planes?

Always thought 1:32 is the perfect scale for prebuilt large aircraft where the possibility of having a four engine bomber is not beyond the realm as 1:18 is. A relatively new thing now is you can buy model kits of four engine bombers as well as twins that are available in 1:32 is proof the scale is...

Re: No more 1/18 Planes?

I agree that shipping costs will do 1/18 in. It’s just gotten ridiculous to ship properly. The 1/30 scale from John Jenkins is some of the best new stuff I have seen. The paint jobs are incredible. It’s jist $$$ and less to choose from. I want one of the corsairs in a bad way. With the virtual deat...

Re: Bachem Natter in 1.18

Very cool and the Natter looks like it’s coming along nicely! I just got this awesome idea of building one of these so it could mount one of those model rocket engines... If the model is balanced and stable enough, it could be launched and the little charge could blow out the cockpit section and a p...

Re: Revell Apollo

What about the gold exterior on the command module? I've not seen one photo of an Apollo CSM with that color; all I've seen are more silver. I’ve got no idea on the gold color. It’s interesting as the Revell model calls for the gold color and shows it on the box art. My model/toy even has it... But...

Re: No more 1/18 Planes?

Axis, I think you’re correct that the Merit FW-190 Graf version was one of the last completely new 1/18 models released, and it wasn’t even a US release. There were also the Flight Wing TBF Avenger repaints that were released around the same time, but that’s been it other than the custom work from P...

I haven’t opened it yet, but I got the new FOV Sherman Firefly tank from The Flying Mule today... Its a beautiful model that looks on par with the classic FOV vehicles from around 15 years ago 8) https://i.postimg.cc/nc6dkBbp/33-C442-DA-A7-CE-414-D-9139-31674204188-E.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/L4Wv9Ls...

You did a beautiful job with that Revell Apollo CSM model, cnq, the paint work is perfect :D I also really like your setup with the Saturn V and Astronaut figures. Who made the 1/6 figures? This is my little space display, with the Dragon 1/72 scale Saturn V (prebuilt version), earth rise photo, and...

Re: WTB: 1:48 HobbyMaster display stand.

A few years ago, I got a Hobby Master Spitfire Mk.I Model in 610 Squadron markings (HA7801) from an eBay seller long after the particular model was out of production. The model was missing the pilot’s armored headrest part, which I think was a production-wide defect. I contacted Hobby Master Custome...

Coogrfan, I don’t have a Hobby Master stand that I can spare, but you should contact their customer service and request the part. I’ve dealt with their customer service a few times in the past and have always had a positive experience. They will usually send a missing or replacement part free of cha...

Re: 1/32 B-24!

Axis, you’re darn right on the insane level of detail in the HK Models kits! I got an HK Models B-17G back in 2016 and also got the Eduard “Big Ed” detail sets so I could add a lot more to the model... Progress was painstaking to say the least... Then construction stalled back in early 2017 as I got...

Grunt, what are the dimensions on the sections of Marston Matting in 1/18 scale? This could be really useful for my large display boards 8)

Re: Bachem Natter in 1.18

Nice model in the diorama... just about the scale, when you look at normandy's first pic, a man is about 3/4 of the length between wing and nose. You’re right granch, the Thomas Gunn Miniatures Natter model is a bit too small. It is probably closer to 1/32 or 1/35 as opposed to 1/30 scale. Not sure...

Re: 1/18 Armor Decals

Monkey Depot used to sell a good variety of US and German decal sets in multiple scales. That was a few years back but you might be able to track something down through them. Those were the John’s Stuff decals and they were fantastic! A little tricky to work with as the decal film was thin, but don...
