Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I held off buying a 1/32 Dauntless from BBI as I was waiting on Admirals 1/18 and I have been kicking myself on that one ever since but it looks like next year I can give my foot and butt a break.

1:18 scale aircraft collection in TN for sale.

Just checking to see if there is anyone in the east TN, western VA area that maybe interested in my 1:18 scale warbirds that got into the game late and is looking to get a collection started or add to theirs. I don't get on or post very often but as some guys can tell you, I have been around since t...

Re: Collecting boredom.. trying modeling again- after 30yrs

Very nice, I have several kits I have been holding off doing but I am ready to get back to it. I have a F9F Panther just begging to be finished and then I am going to tackle my big daddy a 1:350 Tamiya Yamato battleship kit.

Re: Bad Cat Blog terminates itself...

I have to go record as saying that I always got good customer service from BadCat and scored a few deals over the years although it has been a couple of years since I have bought any items from that group. As others have already mentioned, I am thankful for what BadCat did for the 1:18 scale hobby e...

The warthog is very cool. Has anyone gotten the RC Halo Hornet? Just wondering how hard it is to fly as I am thinking of getting that for my son for Xmas, he thinks Halo and Master Chief totally rule.

Re: 1/18 Sell Off, People Leaving Hobby/Scale

I'm glad this story sparked some thought. It really is a great use for these aircraft. The video game kids of today are visually stimulated so these birds defininately catch their visual attention and get them to thinking and asking questions which is a great thing. It brings more meaning for them t...

Re: 1/18 Sell Off, People Leaving Hobby/Scale

I have about 21 birds and I have always considered selling them off. The thing that holds me back are the kids. I went to my sons fifth grade class and took a few with me......next thing I know they ask me to come back and speak to the entire fifth grade. I lined up about 12 of these birds at the ed...

Not Surprised

I have to say this comes as no real shock to me. With 21C's demise it was just a matter of time before supplies became scarce for some aircraft types/paint schemes. You will always have the crazies that come onto ebay and bid some pretty high prices for what is perceived to be a rare plane. Not that...

I will be the first to admit that I have been one the first people to jump on 21C for leaking info on upcoming products that either did not come to production or possibly to discourage other manufacturers from making their versions. Anyway, maybe 21C has just adopted a policy of strict silence on ne...

Jason, I also want to express my encouragement and thanks for all that AT has done and is doing. Besides collecting and enjoying these warbirds, I have found another very important mission for them. They have been employed as teaching tools at my kid's school. Last year when my son's 5th grade class...

I don't think you can go wrong Erich's "black tulip" scheme which has yet to be done in 1:18. How can we not have the "Ace of Aces" with an amazing 352 kills? My only suprise is that his tulip scheme has not been done yet.

Here's what I currently know: Admiral toys is out of the military toy business as of several days ago.BBi has no new toolings planned for 2009, but may do repaints. 21st is sticking to repaints, and are still working on a 1/18 F-4. As usual I was told thi...

$42.75 for a 1/32 Dauntless seems a little steep to me----I saw 21st Century 1/32 planes at Wal-Mart for $14.99. Totally agree....saw Badcat had it up for pre-order for $39.99....ouch!! That is way steep for a WW2 bird in 1:32 scale. Nobody can argue about the it's a jet or larger size issue on thi...
