I was holding out to see pictures of the actual production version of the non-special edition, but now that I've seen them I'm canceling my pre-order. No way am I paying $210 for paint that bad. Paying an additional $100 to "fix" it is crazy to me. The fixed version doesn't even look that good. TKO ...

Demonclaw, I don't have a disability but there is no way I could put together a 1/32 Tamiya kit, paint it and have it look good. I may as well hammer two 2'X4's together and spray paint them green... Building a model sounds more troublesome than it really is , if you just follow the instruct...

Looks like a fun kit to build but I would never spend over 100$ for a 1:32 model , especially when the Tamiya 1:32 F-14 and Hasegawa 1:32 f-16 only cost 45-50$ I'm probably gonna start building 1:32 planes when I get some new better tools and paint The only reason why I'm buying these finished mass...

Thanks for the info. How does the landing gear look extended? are the wheel wells detailed? Also, for those canopies that don't stay on / shut I recommend glue dots. They work great and are not permanent. You can find them at any crafts store. The gear looks good extended, but the wells are not det...

If your Spit is like mine the holes on the underside of the wing are the ejection chutes for shell casings from the guns. The canopy does just set in place and doesn't snap. This is a minor issue that can easily be over looked at the $15-$20 price point these retail for at WM and TRU.

The builder states that it is just a concept and his idea of what the proposed combination might have looked like if it had ever been flown. "This model made from reference pictures is a concept of what might have been." The fact that it never existed doesn't take anything away from the model. It's ...

Very impressive! I actually I was getting a bit bored thinking there were 10 min of static shots and turned it off just as the first engine started up so I had to restart it and watch the whole thing.

All it really needs is a puff of smoke from each engine at start up.

Wow, I work only a couple miles from the store and didn't know they were there. I'll be heading over there at lunch to check what they have in stock. I've been on a 1:32 aircraft binge lately. I'm trying to find one of each type that 21st has available. 1:18 scale has been moving too slowly with new...

Up to recently I've collected 1:18 planes only, but I bought the 1:32 F-4J and I'm hooked. For large planes like this the only way to make it practical is a smaller scale like 1:32. The manufactures are very reluctant to make big planes in 1:18 because of the cost of the molds is so high. The high r...

As VMF115 posted elsewhere, the Motorpool.com said on Jan. 8 that the 21st Century 1/18 Steve Ritchie F-4D Phantom will be released in February. Earlier, I saw that Motorpool.com had an $89.99 pre-order price, but now no price is mentioned. Motorpool.com? I can't find any website with that address....

I've found that justifying my collectin and hobbies to my wife works if I relate it to shoes/clothes. No woman can justify how many shoes and clothes she has. They can try to justify that they NEED 15 pairs of black shoes for all different kinds of outfits and changing seasons, but it's pretty easy ...

I got mine today. The paint work is quite good. The only thing I noticed is a bit of olive drab showing through the yellow on the engine cowl. Other than that it is very good. The attempt at weathering around the fuel fillers is less than realistic, but I'll be weathering all the panel lines and add...

The only difference is that AT's prices were too high (IMHO), and 21st's prices are what they should be.. (Think about it.. Avenger $69.99.. Phantom II (A little bigger) at $20.00 more) Seems reasonable huh??? Now, I am not saying that AT's Phantom isn't worth $140... It just might be.. But NOT hav...

Something no one seems to have thought of in all of this - the difference in price may be how the product is configured. Keep in mind the array of stuff that can hang off a Phantom II. AT may include a complete set of ordnance - everything in one box. 21C might have an $89.99 WallyWorld package and...

On a side note, I was dissapointed that BBI did the P-51 and the F-4U as well. Competition from BBI has given us versions of these aircraft that are muc...

Enemyace and Chunks you are both forgetting that when 21c did announce that they were making the Avenger way in advance of it actually being ready to put into production they caught all kinds of hell because they ran into delays and didn't deliver it on time. I like the direction that AT is going with the Skyraider and F-4. AT is catering to the collector or aircraft enthusiast that wants big scale and lots of detail and is willing to pay for it. The F-4 will truely test the market for these expensive birds to see if they can fly (pun intended  .) ...

A lot of the F-4 ordinance is a no brainer. Must haves are: 4 each of the sidewinder and sparrow 3 drop tanks An assortment of Mk 81, 82, 83, 84 bombs with low drag guidance fins and high drag "snakeye" fins. Fuse extenders are also cool. Triple ejector racks are a must too. Other cool ordinance wou...
