Revell Germany has a new model of the "Bismarck" in 1/350 sale which is both astoundingly good (far better than the old Tamiya version which had set the standard) and reasonably priced. There is a review of it on modelwarships.com. The same sompany also just released a superb 1/144 scale "Fletcher" ...

Actually, the point about the hitch/ harnessing is a good one and had passed through my mind already as I assumed there had to be a way to get the trails off the ground. A set of wheels would make sense but if the Missing-lynx folks have not seen any photos of such a set up, a diorama would have to ...

Thanks for the replies. I recognize that horses towing a Pak40 might be a rarity; probably an expedient measure. Still, it would be an interesting diorama- lacking a proper German field gun to use instead. As far as draft animals go, well, the local Big Lots has five PTE horses at $3.00 apiece plus ...

Pak 40 Question
I have a photo in a book which shows a Russian 76mm field gun being towed by horses. How many horses would it take to tow a Pak40? I think using PTE horses for this might make a neat Eastern Front diorama and I want an idea how many I need to buy.

I did take TKO's much appreciated advice and early today got the pre-order still offered by Bad Cat on this item. While I suppose it is within the realm of possibility these may show up one day at a TRU or Target, why take the chance they won't? That plus looking at the photos of what I will be gett...

I would be interested to see what the underside of the vehicle looks like compared with the 21c offering ( I got so spoiled by the undersides of the Dodge trucks and Command Car). Bearing in mind that some of what is on the FOV halftrack seems more accurate (cut down in the side armor), how difficul...

Got the newish German figs at the local Wally yesterday. Nice. I think the "Wermacht" rifleman has the nicest headsculpt. The artillery spotter dude has a facial expression that evokes, "Javol! I am getting mine routine prostate check. ARGH-H-H!!!!" Can't imagine what 21C was thinking when they came...

I would certainly pick one up as I have liked this plane ever since seeing the aforementioned "Bridges At Toko-Ri" at a very early age- one of my favorite movies because it doesn't have a happy ending and actually dares to address the ambiguity, in no uncertain terms, of the Korean conflict which is...

Why???
Have picked up several FOV pieces over the past few weeks. Can someone enlighten me as to why many of the American vehicles come adorned with the Stars and Stripes (although now that I think about it, they couldn't squeeze it on the Jeep) prominently diplayed on their hind quarters. I mean even the ...

I can attest to osketten's comments about "Rezz". I purchased each of the Dragon figure sets he had available about a month or so ago and received them almost instantly. They came wonderfully packed in a nice sturdy box. I have yet to remove any of them from their individual packaging becuse they al...

FINALLY!!! After weeks upon weeks of checking, the South Portland, ME Target had WW2 figs! I picked up all six Krauts and the half-dozen Yanks. Good looking troops, although I plan on keeping them on their cards until I get a second complete U.S.-German set to stow way. It might be soon as the ones ...

Going to my local Wally is depressing (was there tonight). There's a few dual packs, Platoon figs and a smattering of 1/32 including a half-dozen Panzer 38t's that noone has touched and the 1/6 German MG's. In the clearance aisle is a brace of Russian Migs. Problem is, I have all of this stuff and h...

I actually got into XD when I bought the 21C P47D razor "Blonde Angel" as a birthday present for my older brother. That was back in- what?- 04. Then I returned to the local Wally and picked up my own T-bolt, the checker version. Now I have the rueful satisfaction of going down to the back room of ou...

Well, I made my routine fruitless Friday fig forage to the local Target. All I found was the same warmed over modern stuff. No Tiggers. No Shermies. And absolutely no Huns or Yanks, which at this point is what I crave most. Got a good look at some of the WW2 guys via pix posted on the Fox Hole Toys ...

Agree about the pix. I remember now this use of these particular figs being discussed some time back-although I would require a fair number to crew the six Pak 40's I have. I am almost ashamed to admit I acquired that many. But it is such a cool piece once I got one I could not help myself... and th...

I have a limited number of 1/6 items- the newer 21C weapons sets for example. And I have a large selection of 1/18 planes, vehicles and figs. But awhile back I began picking up the occasional 1/32 offering which struck my fancy until lately when that practice has simply mushroomed due to the plethor...
