The real Kubel in the pic seems to be riding as high as the toy. Are you aware of how VW suspensions work? All stock air-cooled VWs rode high as they would drop somewhat under load. They did't get strut suspensions until the Super Beetle in the 70s. Now you have to put figures in it.

Even then, do we know if that vehicle was shipped without schurzen or is it possible it had and lost them before the pic was taken? In either case, it is unfortunate they aren't removable.
