Re: Are 1/18 scale figures dead

I've been buying 21c US paratroopers (101st) when I find deals. I would not say that the market has dropped out on 1:18 figures.

Re: BAD CAT TOYS

I live an hour away from them and have always had excellent service from them (actually when I showed up at their store front, they gave me a tour ... it was a great experience). I certainly recommend them and continue to shop with them, though I do mix it up and also have a few other regular retail...

Re: Algo Enterprises

 $40 for a 1/32nd scale plane? Wow, I know times have changed but that is over twice what they used to charge. Count me out at that price. I can only imagine what they are going to charge for any 1/18 repaints they have planned. I feel very fortunate that I was around when the 1/18 planes we...

Re: The Best 1:18 Items Ever Made

-Dragon... Their accessories were a work of art, and in some cases so were the sculpts of their figures. Articulation was non-existant though, and action figures kind of need it to earn the name. Otherwise they're just like little green army men with better decoration. Their gear though, no company...

Re: The Best 1:18 Items Ever Made

The over all best item had to be the 88mm Flak Gun Seconded! Aircraft Admiral's CL-13. It has a great paint job, it is sturdy and well balanced. Second place would be 21c's Stuka (I'm partial to the Winter paint job), despite the fact that the wings are a pain (if not impossible) to take apart, it ...

Re: P-38/P-47 pilot accessory questions

I just looked in my Peg and couldn't see evidence of tape where a figure stand, parachute, and gas mask would have originally been secured below the plastic tray. My memory of when I opened Peg was that there wasn't any accessories, which is fine ... I was / am afraid they'd fall off if I seat the p...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

I just came back from my hobbystore, and they have the same amount of the S1 Marines BAR man and Flamethrower guy they have had for the past two years. Did people have something against these figures? I thought the S1 were great when they first came out, but as the next several waves of 21c figures...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

True playsets tend to have features and not impress adults like they do kids, and even then, kids don't buy them anyway because the big stuff days are gone aside from some vehicles. The bridge should've been out in wave 1 though, in place of the barn I think. I'd have gladly bought that, full price...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

Worst playset is the Fountain. The Fountain was just lame, and overpriced. At half what its original cost was, it's a better item. And I got all mine for less than that even. Considering that the fountain was one of 4 playsets and eventually went on sale, I like it. Its like the old Kenner Death St...

Re: What was the worst item ever made?

Wow, I actually feel that the 21c figures are actually some of the best. The last wave of US figures, awesome. I've had no problems with them, their articulation is great, the paint jobs are good, and they come loaded with plenty of accessories that are easy to move around. The 21c figures are more ...

Re: POST ALL TOY FAIR DISCUSSION HERE

The Indy news is the best so far. I'm a bit confused. So they will be releasing the lost wave, but just at SDCC or will it also be available on-line? It seems to me a shame any time a toy retailer releases an exclusive at the SDCC, as much how we were talking about how large toy companies just move...

Re: POST ALL TOY FAIR DISCUSSION HERE

Maybe their isn't much of anything else. :? I know I'm guilty of talking about the Joe stuff right now, but I think the tanked market pretty much put a major dent in the 1/18 stuff we love. Here is the positive side, if somebody didn't anchor the Toy Fair it could morph into something that the 1/18...

Re: POST ALL TOY FAIR DISCUSSION HERE

I am pretty sure they have stated they would never do a USS Flag again, to big and expensive blah blah. But i hope the skystriker leads to other great stuff maybe a new variation of the rattler or someting more fighter feeling for cobra. I have 4 25th rattlers and seeing the sky striker makes me wa...

About time! I never had it as a kid, but my friends who did were considered hands down to have air superiority.

If the Skystriker does well, what are the changes that they might be tempted to rerelease the USS Flag? :)

C'mon man there's plenty of GI Joe fans here. I got lots of the 25th stuff. Though some of the vehicles just don't quite cut it after you're used to the 1:18 military toys most of us are used to now. I agree. I like the small joe figures. In fact, Agent Helix, Admiral Ackbar, Capt. America, Mike fr...

It isn't a 1:18 plane (well at least it won't happen in our lifetimes), but I'd like the B-24 Diamond Lil' of the Confederate now Commemorative Air Force. :)

For 1:18 I would love for JSI to release a Glacier Girl P-38 repaint.

It is hit or miss here in California. My brother found (and cleaned) out another Target weeks ago. I figured it was that one store, as I've visited a number of Sacramento targets and grabbed a few items and brought them to the scanner ... no dice. :(

Re: 1:18 Tank values

I bought one unopened for $50.00 a few months ago I don't think you'll find too many of the ambush panthers for less than $50 shipped (actually that is a fair deal). Boxed doesn't seem to add that much more to that tank. But at the same time, it too can crawl up. In the case of the panther, I think...

I did find one of the Sacramento Big Lots to have a few (over 6) of the Towers and some of the $3.50 camel / horse / camping set packs.
