Re: 1/18 Alien Queen figures
thanks.........I was able to get my answer a while ago via another forum's review of the 2 figures. There are some differences between the 2 figures, both cosmetic and of more practical concern. The AVP Queen comes more fully assembled and has different colouration that I preferred so I ended up get...

Re: My Rare Bears
3 sqn RAAF operated the P-51d from November '44 until the end of the war in Italy and I think Yugoslavia too. I don't think 77 sqn saw any action during WWII with the P-51d.
I regret not getting the 3 sqn model back in the day.

Re: tank with rocket launcher on top...what is it?
almost, I think it's the panzerwerfer 42 on the SWS halftrack., going by what I can see of the road wheels.
PH, I thought it was a nebel on a panzer iv too at first but upon inspection ii think it's the back end of a panzerwerfer 42 mounted on SWS halftrack.

am I imagining things or is the barrel in that photo much shorter than a panther's normal barrel? Did the germans crop it?

Re: Bruder Agricultural and Construciton vehicles
since there's been so much interest in this topic, lol, I figured i'd update it with my findings. Most all of the large Bruder vehicles are about 1/16.8 scale. The really large Volvo truck I mentioned above is 1/18.4 scale and the smaller Bruder vehicles are 1/16. Bruder has made a variety of figure...

Re: 1/16 Merit WW2 15cm sFH18 Howitzer
i'm very tempted to get both the M198 and sFH 18 in 1/16 scale. Does anyone have any pics they can post of either of the 1/16 guns built up, with 1/18 figures beside them? I'm afraid they will look like children manning the guns...

Thanks Tman. That's a surprise. The Joy Toy figures are listed as 4.13 inches tall, so i figured they would be the larger of the two brands

Re: Turretless Tiger I Recovery Vehicle?
I wonder if the JS-2 is at some German repair shop behind the lines and the Tiger towing it is another Tiger that has undergone repairs and is awaiting having its turret put back on. However you'd think at that point in the war they'd be rushing Tigers back up to the front, not using them as tow veh...

German WWI 77mm gun
Palmer Plastics made a model kit they called 75mm WWI artillery piece, 1/24 scale. Turns out, it's actually a decent model of a German 77mm gun used during WWI and it's almost exactly 1/18 scale. It's simplified a bit of course but it's a pretty decent replica. These guns were used by Germany throug...

Re: Joy Toy 1/18 WWII Soviet Infantry Review?
interesting, thanks guys. On BIg Bad Toy Store site it says they are 4.13 inches tall...which is pretty big, almost 6' 3" in height. That's kinda large, more like 1/17 scale.
BTW, how are Marauder's figures? They look quite good, albeit pricey...

Can anyone give a quick review of these 5 figures? To my eye from what I've seen they look a bit super hero-ish in proportion with oversized weapons. Is that a fair assessment?

Re: Anyone built the Freedom Models 1/16 Kettenkrad?
i wasn't aware Marauder made figures. Quite a selection. Even a couple of British figures. Not as many Germans as I would have expected; most figures are US Marines.
I see they're not cheap. How are they for size, quality and articulation compared to BBI and XD figures?

Bruder Agricultural and Construciton vehicles
just a heads up. While the official scale of Bruder vehicles is 1/16, many if not all the larger ones are a bit smaller than that. I just got the Volvo A60H mining dump truck and it is almost exactly 1/18. Years ago I got their big Cat Bulldozer, which is a D9 and it is pretty much 1/20 scale, sligh...
