Ho-Hum.... :| Another month is coming to a close and still no FW-190A-F. Our Museum full scale example may be finished first despite being a little more complex. I gave up on it coming out so I'm now searching for a Dora for my collection. I've lost faith in merit Merit is in it's death thro...

Re: Any Scoop on the new 1/18th Scale Harrier...?
 $240? OUCH! Will this be a deal breaker for anyone? Doesn't bode well for the FW-190 but considering the price of the recent re-paints by Flight Wings and repaint MiG-15s over $100, I suppose it's right in line with the skyrocketing prices for newly released 1/18 planes, especially ...

Re: Any Scoop on the new 1/18th Scale Harrier...?
We don't really have any hard facts from Merit on the gun pod (GAU-12) yet. From the pictures taken at SDCC 2014 and the discussions here on this forum from Black_Dragon_One and a couple of others elsewhere who have had recent run ins with Merit it seems they maybe leaving it off to keep the costs ...

Re: Any Scoop on the new 1/18th Scale Harrier...?
i have not heard a peep from Merit since the last update a while back. It kinda has everyone scratching their head. I'm not surprised because of how bad they screwed up the first release. Horrible accuracy. I urinate on the cockpit. How could they mess that up so bad ? I also don't think it sold we...

Re: REVIEW OF THE 1/18 scale Harrier AV-8B
Unopening canopy doesn't sound very promising, especially compared to every other aircraft in the scale. Hopefully just a flaw... It's just one of many flaws. They decided on a static cockpit canopy cover because they seriously screwed the cockpit up. Just look how far forward the pilot ejection se...

Re: Merit 1/18 AV-8B Pilot?
Definitely built on the cheap. It has a few mistakes in the design / markings / panels and limited function of some moveable control mechanisms. They missed upgrades to the design that would have been in operation at the time of service indicated by the panels / markings. I imagine this was due to l...

Uh, the article itself is 11 f'n years old... are you guys seriously freaking out about this? Not sure who wrote it, but the title line alone is such sensationalist tripe to its target audience (IE: guys who build model planes) that it's laughable. Nobody's coming to steal your planes today guys. :...

"Thank goodness for 3D printers, you can make your own models for personal use but crappy you cannot sell them. Greedy SOBs." They're going to get royalties by taxing the software for your 3D printer.......greed is not good!!!! :x Like the article said, I don't think they will care. What if they wa...

Model cars were first threatened. "Jeep is a registered trademark of the Daimler-Chrysler corporation." Jeep models were the first victims of the stink as I remember it long ago. They still say that slogan after every Jeep commercial to this day. I can't think of any other brand that feels the need...

Re: How to create your own 1/18 model aircraft
As promised, here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1O95x6VgNw It took lots of research and development, $1,000 in materials and a lot of time invested in pioneering this process spanning over about 9 months. I hope that everyone uses it to make the things they have always wanted. I realize t...

Re: How to create your own 1/18 model aircraft
I have always wanted a V2 in 1 18 Jon. Shapeways should have a V2 in the catalog. I submitted it a while back. I think it cost me 35.00 to print. I also put landing gear for the F-18 in their catalog as the ABS plastic sucks. With a stronger resin you don't have to worry about bowing. If I remember...

Re: How to create your own 1/18 model aircraft
I'd love to have the Ta-152 conversion, I have a donor 190D I wanted to customize, but a Ta-152 would be sweet. How would the main landing gear work? I'm assuming it would be either permanently up or down? I have that on my list to make. I guess it depends on how detailed you want it. The Ta-152 is...

Re: How to create your own 1/18 model aircraft
Many cities have a art Co-op where you pay a 30.00 or so membership fee and you have access to 3D printers, ceramic ovens, CAD software and such. I've made a 1/18 Typhoon, Tempest, F4 II, Me-163 and others. I had a Harrier II before Merit. I also have made an assortment of different munitions. Ther...

I don't exactly know why Merit decided to make a Harrier II. I made one because I drove one for over 15 years. I think it was a personal favorite decision. And what's with more P-51s, MiG-15s, F-86s..... aren't there enough already?

Axis Nightmare, I think it's great that you want to enhance and modify the 1/18 planes in your collection. It will certainly add to your enjoyment of the model over time by making it personal. I want to share a link to a Bbi hellcat re-build by a senior modeler, that I think you'll find as impressi...

Re: BBi Bf-109G Glaring Issue.
Just curiously, has anyone ever fixed the 21st Century Toys P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop No. 13295, 1:32 Scale? That was a P-47M Sprint and not the D. I was thinking of keeping one P-47 and doing up a P-47M. Is there a list of available mods from the community that are available for purchase? Has any...
