Re: 1/144 B-24D/J Conversion to B-24A/LB-30
I finished the props and clear coated the plane. I added antennas on but they were all too big. So I replace them with smaller more accurate ones at a later date. i brought "Lil" over to the parent's for Easter to show it off and left it there. My father was kind enough to take a couple shots of her...

Update with the two Liberators. I cut out of some half round stock styrene for new and slightly larger intakes for the engines. https://hosting.photobucket.com/c1ed2b9e-13bc-4945-a349-dd18c061b896/a56f71e9-d743-49d8-ae22-4efbf8fbd10b.jpg https://hosting.photobucket.com/c1ed2b9e-13bc-4945-a349-dd18c0...

Re: 1/144 CAF Diecast Collection
P-38 decals finally came in and now I can start in... First I painted in the canopy, then I trimmed everything with white to clean it up. And with that, the P-40 is finished... The dark glossy sea blue I've been using for all the cockpits (except the Corsair) is to keep the consistency with the Corgi P-51 and P-47. It blends in a bit too much more my liking but it is what it is... https://hosting.photobucket.com/c1ed2b9e-13bc-4945-a34...

1/144 B-24D/J Conversion to B-24A/LB-30
Hey Guys! Continuing on with the CAF related aircraft line, here is another blast from the past. Many of you in the US who've been to an airshow in the past 40 years probably recognize this airframe. 1/144 CAF Diecast Collection
You know... it's funny how you start down certain rabbit holes and find sudden spurts of motivation and interest in something seemingly so random and specific... but that's what happened to me with this odd little project. Background: It all started in an antique store in Massachusetts... Sturbridge...

Re: New Aircraft Projects For 2023
I think a P-39 would be a great candidate since it was used in every theater so international appeal might be stronger. Nice to see Shomare brought up the suggestion too.

Re: 1/72 Airfix Kingfishers
Welp, I finally finished the other Kingfisher! It was planned to be given to its new owner on New Year's Eve, but I ran into some complications near the end! Plane: It's straight out of the box. No frills (except the aftermarket decals from the same set the Arizona bird came from). The paint scheme ...

After recovering from the 1/18th scale P-38F contract job, I wanted to do something simple and straightforward. Re: 1/18 P-38J Conversion to F "White 33"
Thanks so much Pickelhaube. It was an interesting project with its fair share of roadblocks. If it wasn't for a customer and just for me, it probably would have taken me years to finish! But I still had a deadline for this one, so I needed to finish the wing... I started off with drawing out what pa...

1/18 P-38J Conversion to F "White 33"
Hey all! Thought I'd share my most recent endeavor. I was contracted in April to take a 1/18th scale 21st Century Toys P-38J Lightning and convert it to resemble P-38F-5-LO Lightning, 42-12652, known today as "White 33". Something as far as I know has only been done once before. I remember seeing a ...

Fantastic work, Warbird Kid :D Your Spitfire is looking great so far! Thanks so much! Appreciate it. 1/18th Spitfire Repaint (Andrew Mamedoff)
Background So in my never ending quest to fix and repair down trodden and incomplete 21st Century 1/18th scale aircraft toy / models, I started to look around my workspace for my next project. I'm late to your posts but wow, these are two fine custom planes :!: :!: I think 1:18 is a great for display in a museum setting, while 1:32 might be a good space saver this larger scale is more impressive. I may have to check out your museum one day, I'm on that island to your south. :) Thanks alo...

Re: 1/18th Scale P-47N & P-51D Repaint
I usually remove tape about 1/2 hour after spraying, but I use paints that are fairly fast drying. I also use brown packaging tape for masking, instead of regular making tapes. It's super thin and that helps reduce ridges. Be warned not to leave it on too long though, after a few hours the glue wil...

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! It means alot! I noticed on the orange painted rudder tip you had a paint ridge. I could not notice if you addressed this later in your build. Depending on your paint that you used ( I have switched to acrylics ) You need to take off the masking ASAP this al...

P-39 and Wildcat are tops for me as they are the only two main US WWII fighters missing. Oh and a P-36 too since I missed the first run.
