For those that have a tablet or other e-Reader, Amazon offers up this ebook for free. I bought the paperback years ago and found it to be a very good read on the Tiger and one of Germany's best tank aces of WWII:

Re: Diehard 1/72 collector branching out
Ohh, this is getting to be an addiction now - 3 tanks and the massive German 'Karl' mortar ordered so far this week :( http://www.ebay.com/itm/290638435973?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Saw this and couldn't resist for that price. It should make a nice accompaniment to my 1/144 ...

Re: Diehard 1/72 collector branching out
Still buying 1/72 armor here, but I do very much enjoy the rail gun and the 1/32 KT that I picked up. I finally got the War Master JS2 tank (limited ed - #250 of 2000) which was a pre-order for August of 2011. I ordered in July, and it just arrived yesterday . Needless to say, I was less than please...

What, no cheap ornaments available at Walmart ?? Pride of the fatherland indeed.
I display my collection at work so my wife and kids cannot get ahold of them.

Re: Diehard 1/72 collector branching out
Got the rail gun today. My 5 y.o. son (who loves trains) wanted to hook it up to his Thomas 'HO' scale train and tow it around the track. I hadda tell him 'Ohh Nooo, son, this is not a toy !" Only down side to it is the thing won't stay on the track if you breathe within 2 feet of it. :( Ya, I tried...

Re: Diehard 1/72 collector branching out
Thanks for the welcome ! Whatever hobby I pick up, I search for a forum soon after to educate myself on what is out there, and at this early stage I'm not too concerned with the rarity of a certain model, I just like the different camo techniques that were applied. I had ignored the Japanese tanks u...

Diehard 1/72 collector branching out
So after many years of slowly adding to my 1/72 collection (2 tanks a year - one for my B-day and another at X-mas) I've been buying at quite a prodigious rate lately, and I am now up to 14 tanks, all at 1/72 scale. All of the forces are well represented, save for the Japanese, but I am soon going t...

Re: Decal removal question for the pros
Yes, I agree it was a mistake to make two of them. One, ya fine. Two ??? C'mon ... I have been finding an occasional auction for the Polish version, but I do like the camo version minus the German markings. Rather than mess one up, I think I will just buy a non-captured version at this point. Not su...

Decal removal question for the pros
I am looking for a way to remove the German markings on the Sherman Firefly #60260, specifically the turret and side skirt white crosses. Not sure this can be done without ruining the paint, hence this thread to ask the modder pros. Link to pic of Firefly -> http://www.flyingmule.com/products/DM-602...

Re: FOV German Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. B paint
Thank you, but I'm afraid I'm no painter, I just got lots of advice from some members :D And quite a humble fellow you are, too ! That paint is fantastic, and like any piece of art, you've added value to it via your labor. Two thumbs up for your efforts, Ram. I myself wouldn't buy the Stug unless y...

Re: ALL USERS, ESPECIALLY NEW USERS: TRADE ALERT & RULES
Same here, did not read the rule as I am doing a straight buy transaction, which to me is entirely safe. I'm paying the seller in advance and he ships it after I've paid . No idea how that can be a scam, so I will keep searching flEbay in hopes I can find what I'm after. I'll check back in 5 months.

Re: Have we entered the Golden Age for 1/72 collectors?
Just like Heer, I started collecting 1:72 3 years ago, with my first being a King Tiger bought at the Aberdeen military museum gift shop. I normally buy two tanks a year, one for my B-day and one for Xmas, but as the collection grows, so grows my need to look for new models. I just purchased a limit...
