Since I've already "butchered" my butcher bird by cutting the tail off and modifying the rudder based on the previous thread this was mentioned in I'm really hoping you go with the FW-190 conversion.
The Rufe float plane would be a great project too...right AFTER the FW-190A conversion.

Re: Fw-190 A Modicification in 1/18 Scale
Outstanding news! I too was real close to pulling the trigger on the Skyworks set when he stopped responding to E-mails. Glad I waited. I will now begin the tail and fuselage modifications on my retro FW project. 6-14-12: Official start of project- Removed canopy, tail section, rudder and fuselage e...

Some great skill and imagination on display there. You appear to be meeting or exceeding your production quotas...Minister Speer will be most pleased!

Re: Fw-190 A Modicification in 1/18 Scale
Yes! I'm in for one of the conversions whichever way you go. My donor butcher bird awaits your stellar efforts! I would like to see a complete fuselage with the correct access panels and vertical stabilizer etc for the an earlier (A-7/A-8) and I would definitely buy it but if that requires too much ...

Re: PH to make a BF108
That's the ticket! Now there's hope for that partially disassembled D model project down stairs. Some WGr. 21 cm launchers would also be a great add on for the 109's and 190's too. You know you want to make them....

Re: PH to make a BF108
Speaking of add on kits, I think we really need a FW-19OA conversion set like the now infamous Skyworks one. Smaller spinner, cowling with fan, centerline stores rack, main landing gear and replacement rudder. Think of all those re-paints! The possibilities are endless!

Re: How I fix broken props (and most other parts)
I used the same basic technique with brass rod to fix the broken landing gear on my Me-262. The connecting link and the attachment point on the landing gear leg were broken somehow and it is a heavy plane to start with. Definitely much stronger now.

Matthew, YOU'RE going to be happy when my probation ends as well! I'm already a big fan of you're efforts here. Hope to be seeing that FW-190 A conversion for a "Sturmbock" project that went south with the demise of Skyworks. No real gripes on the 6 month rule... it just got in the way of my "kid in...

Are there any plans to do more nose pieces? After looking at the pics in the build thread, I've got the itch to try one of these and I just got a donor plane :) Whoops! Nevermind... just read the update in the B/S/T section. Excellent news and by then, I'll be off probation to use that forum. I see ...

Apologies to all concerned. Just went back and read the referenced six month rule which I should have noted to start with. Again my apologies to the mods. I'll stay out of here until I meet the B/S/T criteria. Best regards, Mike Nooker, if you've still got this thing when that happens, I'll buy it. :D

Re: 21st Century Toys Mourning/Cry Room.
I miss 21C :( I still have the first issue Bf-109 and P-51 (both much modified) and remember the excitement when one of us would spot the latest release in TRU or Walmart and we'd call everybody from the store to get down there. And the Walmart clearances with planes going for $25.00. They had their...

New member here and I've been watching this thread with great interest. This is truly an inspired piece of modeling. For those of us trying to catch up here, a couple of questions. Landing gear options: I'm presuming from the pics the landing gear does not fold up, (although the strut articulation s...

Nice re-paint. The late war Luftwaffe planes tend to exhibit some unusual paint jobs as they used what ever was available. You captured the look nicely.

Re: BF_109G-Tropical
I think the semi retractable tail wheel was introduced on the BF-109 F series and used until the intro of the BF-109 G-4. That one had the original (11 x 4) tail wheel replaced by a larger one (14 x 5) that no longer fit the recess so the retraction mechanism was deleted. A G-2 Trop with semi retrac...

Pack was closed with a flap fitted with six press studs. Conten...

Re: BF_109G-Tropical
It did. There was a two piece rack assembly with the rifle inserted into a hole in the rear rack and held in the second one with a leather strap and buckle arrangement. It was positioned in the upper portion of the fuselage near the spine with the muzzle towards the tail and the sights facing down. ...

Re: BF_109G-Tropical
Not sure how much detail your going for here but some earlier tropical bf-109E-7's also had a rifle rack in the rear fuselage for a Kar98 rifle to go with that tropical survival kit...don't know if they were still used in the tropical G's but if you actually add that I'd like to see a pic!

Nice piece! The paint technique captures the combat wear and tear nicely. The dental floss tool is somewhat out of scale for that tank crew though!

Thanks for the compliments. The 190 did not get the full treatment as it started out as repaint for a friend who was going to hang it up. He eventually lost interest and gave it to me but I was too far into re-painting it to start going crazy again. I did plan to redo another one as a fully detailed...
