Re: 1/18 UH-1H Huey Full Build or Kit Poll
You might find there aren't as many people looking and posting here as in years past. Facebook groups have taken over. You may get very little response. A full build of a resin 3D printed kit would be challenging. Wondering if there could be a conversion kit for the UH-1 1/18 model kit already out t...

Re: Why does the BBI P-51 have a big hole behind the radiator flap?
Our P-51D has a panel and our example has a small modern avionics blade antenna there. Odd, the BBi Mustang hanging at the Museum doesn't have a hole there.

Re: Why does the BBI P-51 have a big hole behind the radiator flap?
Hmmm... I'll look at ours tomorrow and see if I can find out what it's supposed to be representing. There are far more egregious things on other 1/18 models like the landing gear of the 21st Century P-38 not even being in the correct place on the model and gears struts molded into the gear covers on...

Re: How big should 1/18 scale aircraft get?
As long as it's made as a model and not as a toy. Being intimately familiar with our B-25, the retract system is somewhat complex with the main gear doors opening during the retract and also closing after extension. If it's like so many of the toy's examples with retractable landing gear, it will li...

Those look way too good to risk flying! But I could say that about most of our Museum planes too!

That's a neat toy. I'm not familiar with the movie. I don't watch anything "Disney" since they went all stupid woke.

Re: FOV rouses itself from slumber...!!!
It's a gift and a curse to know what details of a tank, or in my case, a plane, are totally wrong on these models. I couldn't tell you the difference between an ausf G or A or a wrong mantlet on a Panther. Or whether the hatch was wrong or exhaust was inaccurate. I have a hard enough time just spell...

Well now that I see prices on the tiny 1/72 stuff, I guess these 1/32 prices aren't too out of line. Used to say "You get what you pay for." Now it's more like "You pay for what you get."

Those are nice. However, didn't see anything about free shipping so: Figure $130 + shipping + tax. That' a lot.

Re: Mysterious 1951 C-124 Globemaster disappearance
That could be anything from an accident to a major cover up of sabotage. Maybe even a hijack. It sounds like all the passengers and crew either died inside the plane before it sunk, were killed after leaving the plane or were picked up by the wrong people and disappeared forever. However, planes and...

Re: WOLF HOUND ME-109 vs B-25
Wow. Just when you thought Hollywood couldn't get much worse in these kind of fantasy scenes like in "Red tails" and "Pearl Harbor" and to a lesser extent in "Midway". The B-25 with no gunners would have been easy meat for the 109. Wouldn't have lasted a full minute. Wouldn't have had to do anything...

VF-17 1/18 Corsair Formation Display
Posted this on the Fans of 21st century Facebook page but thought I'd put it here too. In conjunction of the ongoing restoration of the Tri-State Warbird Museum's FG-1D Corsair, I decided to do a set of custom Corsairs in 1/18 and hang them in a formation near the Corsair's location in hangar 2. The...

Re: Strange mold lines on 1/18 Spitfire canopy?
NK*K and ZP*A have it. Since they are just repaints, the canopies would be the same mold like the rest of the plane. Likely the other 2 variants have it.

Same here. Never noticed until now. I've seen worse canopy flaws on 1/18 planes.
