McCluskey Dauntless at FM...again!

I thought this model was out of production and that Flying Mule had just "found" four of them. I bought one and was (still am) glad to have it. Then the offereing disappeared off the Flying Mule website. But I have seen reappear and have even ordered a second one. And it is still on the FM website. ...

I would take it either way. If I had two versions of the TBF, one with fixed folded and one with fixed extended wings, I'd probably buy both! Something for some smart model maker to consider.

Oooh, Owww! I've been wanting both of these. A bit pricey even for a sick person like myself.

My only saving grace is that I don't do ebay. But in either event, I lied. I went to Flying Mule and found they still have the McCluskey Dauntless so what the hell? I added on a couple pre-war fighters that I already had but not in those colors.

Politically I would have no problem with buying this set if I were into figures (or if I had the required 6 months membership on this board!). But to me: Himmler looks like Tojo Galland looks African American Von Manstein looks like the old comedian, Joe E. Brown Goering should be fatter. Much fatter.

Officially out of things to buy

After a busy night of successfully mixing bourbon, the interwebs, and my credit card; I now have nothing left to buy. Unless I branch out into other eras besides pre-WWII and WWII aircraft and WWII armor or into other scales besides 1:32 and 1:48. I could start buying 109s with a blue-eyed pilot ins...

Why no Avengers?

Why doesn't anyone make a Grumman TBF in anything other than 1:72??? I have to think it would be a huge seller.

I see the same thing. Sooo much more selection. Unfortunately, I decided early on that 1:72 was too small for me and I went with 1:48 (I've now moved into 1:32). The really good 1:72 aren't even that much cheaper.

New tanks and my pet peeve

Yesterday I got the following 1:32 FOV armor: M5A1 Normandy King Tiger Normandy Jagdpanther Elephant Italy Flak 88 All nice models. My complaint is the industrial strength packaging the FOV uses. Its great that they protect the product but good Lord, its a job to unbox them. And saving the boxes? Fu...

21st Centruy airplanes?

http://smalljoes.com/cat/21st-Century-T ... t-73.shtml

Please fill me in on the quality of their 1:32 planes. These are the only c202 and c205s I have been able to find. I have some of their tanks on order but they haven't arrived yet.

Thanks

i remember readin somewhere about the droopy prop, I will need to check into that with HM. I saw the McCluskey was back on the Mule again last night. I too wish it came with a stand.

I have found that these do not hold up well to handling. The centerline bomg retention pins broke off early as well as one of the wing bomb attach points. A little glue and they will look okay. Of greater concern is the prop which is "floppy". It tens to lay against the cowling. Another problem: I c...

I will probably fix this POS up as best I can and give it to my best Korean buddy Chin Su. He loves action figure models but since his family is single income with 1.5 children he can't spend like I do. He goes into the Terminator type stuff but I'm trying to get him into military models. I gave him...

Having melted the numbers off my credit card I have to pause, catch my breath, and look around. I'm waiting for a bunch of FOV tanks to catch up to me and I'm still waiting for a bunch of pre-orders in: 1 x CG-AA34908 Bf 109G Diecast Model, Luftwaffe JG 50, "Red 1", Hermann Graf - AUG PRE-ORDER @ $1...

Snake, I have seen the 1:48 B17 and B24 but not in color schemes that I like. Honest to God, I can't imagine how much they would weigh or how large the box must be. If I can find a D-Day C-47 I'll go for that. Or 8th Aif Force type paint, not the air/sea rescue or formation planes. I'm very happy ab...

And they're so bloody heavy it will take some industrial scale hooks and thread to hold the weight.
