Another ebay thread, your opinion please!

As most of you have read, I recently lost an ebay auction on an item I really wanted. I realize I could have done things differently to enhance my chances of winning. However, this is a new issue: I PM'd the seller and told him I was disappointed. I asked that if this deal fell through or he ever go...

I've never understood the sniping thing. I just figure out how much I would spend, place my bid, and forget about it. Half the time I never even bother to look and see what the final bid is. On a site like ebay sniping probably isn't as effective and another board such as gunbroker.com that has a 1...

Ostketten, yep we have the same "strategy". It just didn't pay off this time. I felt like a punch in the gut though because I thought I had it in the bag and it's the one I REALLY have been wanting.

This is the only model I have considered buying in 1:72. Flying Mule lists the size as 17.75" long and 9.25" wide, price $149.99.

Oh yeah, 1:72. Not my scale so I don't pay much attention to them.

The North African one?(Best of the Ls IMO) I had prob 5 NiB one time and the Russian one, with green camo on display. picked them at Walmart for 15, sold most for 30. Same with my Opels and Sdkfz.3 Maultiers. That one the Maultier was one of the best 21st pieces of ground equipment...and their 38(t...

I know. I thought I had bid higher than anyone else would go. It's my own fault because I would have gone higher. When I upped my max bid for the last time with 15 seconds left to protect against any late comers I almost added an extra $5. Live and learn, I just hope I get another chance at a simila...

Ebay crushed my soul

At the last second I lost an auction on the only model I really wanted, a Motorworks Ultimate Soldier Panzer III Ausf L in 1:32. I was the high bidder with 15 seconds left, then I added $5 to my bid, I was sure I had it on ice but I lost by $1.

My life sucks.

Right now I'm looking for items I've missed. For instance, my first buy was a Matilda...and now I just bought another in desert tan.

I'm looking for a 1:32 Iraqi T-72 but the only ones available the guy wants an arm and a leg for.

I can fix it but it is at the articulating hinge where it's broken. That's why it will have to be permanently up or down.

My first ebay buy

I finally decided to dance with the devil and got functional on ebay. My first buy was a Matilda II: http://cgi.ebay.com/forces-valor-uk-inf ... t_Vehicles

I'm considering others but the prices are a bit high for me.

A mixed bag today

Five new models came today but the Carosel Fly Boys Nieuport 11 is not for me so I didn't open it. My first two Eagle International planes came, both P-51Bs. One is the Don Gentile "Shangri La" and the other is an RAF with Malcolm hood. Both came from Historic Airplanes and both had missing parts. F...

FOV German half track

I got the last UM-81410 Sd.Kfz.251 Half-Track from the Mule. I broke down and ordered a Dick Best SBD also.

Glad I got the half-track, they were getting scarce.

McCluskey Dauntless on Aim High

http://www.aimhigherjets.com/Douglas_SB ... s_s/96.htm

Available for $147.95, about $22 cheaper than on Flying Mule. Might be a great chance for everyone else to grab one.

Good choices. Typhoon/Tempest for sure. I love the 1:72 Beaufighter (I think by HM) and wish someone would make it in 1:48 or 1:32. I would also like a Black Widow.

As has been pointed out.The Avenger has been done in 1/72, and 1/18. Lots of other aircraft still to be done in 1/32, and 1/48, that would be more popular than the Avenger. But this is the problem with diecast.Less selection than the kits. Just the way it is.If it is popular enough, it will be done...

Snake, I paid FM's going rate of $169. My main problem with buying another is that now I can't justify buying a Dick Best...though that hasn't proven to be much of a problem in the past!

As far as retired pieces showing up, that's why I keep my eye open for a FOV Matilda.
