I think we are talking about the same thing; What I called the wing skin was actually the edge of the strut opening.

Speaking of the Panther, I bought a kit to convert one to a Jagdpather. Metal Panther tracks and road wheels on the way too. Not real accurate out of the box, but it can be made much better.
