The question is if things are so bad financially-wise at 21st H.Q., why don’t they release repaints of those models that are most likely to sell well (like the Spitfire, Super Cobra, Huey, Jeep) at the usual price, just like they intend to do with the AVG P-40, instead of scaring away the bulk of th...

Well, BBI products like the Mitsubishi Zero also come on a slow boat from China, yet etailers in the US are selling this aircraft, which is more detailed than the 21st Panther, for $50.

If 21st really thinks they can make a profit at those prices, they must have inhaled a little too much glue. Clearly not gonna happen. Even the "die-hard" XD collectors on this board say they will be cutting down on the number of units they'll be buying at one hundred bucks a piece. Guess what will ...

I had the same problem with the landing gear on my Old Crow and Big Beautiful Doll P-51's. If you have some modelling skills, 30 seconds per gear with an Exacto knife, trimming just a bit off the wing skin (Just a hair- a little at a time) where they contact, will fix it quickly and easily. You DO ...

Apparently, someone sent my a PM (as I got the e-mail notification), but when I opened my Inbox folder there were no new messages.

The Cat is full wisdom: "All those vocal, passionate pleas may not be backed by real, American dollars and carry the weight desired. The ones that do purchase will inspect with a keen eye and returns can be expected to be high." So people don't like paying for defective merchandise, especially if th...

I think we'll see one from Admiral but it will be a complete surprise when it hits. Though the faithful here will blame some sort of Chinese conspiracy against toy makers for the delay, 21st probably didn’t even have a full scale prototype when they announced theirs. I’ll expect to see one from 21s...

Not sure what you mean - Jason just posted. Do you mean CS related to a purchase?
Yup. It's related to a Jolley Roger I bought from Aikens Airplanes. This was discussed in the Sabre thread that was posted a while back.

Well, whatever it was that was in the pipeline at San Leandro (not necessarily any aircraft, mind you), it’s now been sidetracked in favor of the yet-to-be-released AVG P-40. There have been no news on the fate of the BBI Solomon Islands’ Zero and the Dauntless and Skyraider by AT (whose customer se...

I just clicked on TheMotorpool's September, 2008 releases and the 21st Century 1/18 Phantom is still there... You're right, it's still listed as "4th Quarter 2008" though the site's a little misleading/contradictory in this regard, as the "Release Date" is unknown. Seems a little bit odd that they ...

Yep. It's highly unlikely that these will be anything but repaints considering the wording: "Expect new rounds of 1:18 and 1:32 exclusives from multiple manufacturers and retailers within the next year." If these were actually new models being produced: (a) there wouldn't be previous "...

well, the good news is that at this price, it is just a matter of time before retailers offer sale, or even clearance prices because there arent many mommies that are going to pay 90.00 bucks for a half plastic tank when they can buy a whole division's worth of toys from other companies. Between To...

Thanks for the advice, Warkhawker. That's what I'll do. Hopefully, they at least can shed some light on the best workaround for this issue. The thing is I ordered the model form Aikens Airplanes and it came packaged in its own carboard box from AT within a bigger box (with a 21c Tiger). However, the...

The paint of most black bands/markings in mine is either smudged by someone's fingers or blurred from overspray. In fact, the black paint in the wingtips has “welded” to the styrene foam beads of the packaging, which leads me to think that it was hastily put in the box before it dried. Also, the yel...

Hopefully, the paint job on the Huff is slightly better than the Admiral Toys version. Now I know why their boxes don't have windows. It beats everything I've seen so far--completely beyond "repair". I guess AT gives the words "Never Again" a different meaning... My first and last AT plane. A short-...
