Andrea Miniatures

I accidentally stumbled across this website today and thought maybe some of you might be interested in the 1/18 scale (90 mm) figurines. They are pretty expensive, though : The Third Reich - Rise & Fall series: http://www.andrea-miniatures.com/_carro/AspsProductos/listado.asp?IdColeccion=128 9...

Re: Two 1/18 Corsairs on the way!

Welcome aboard and make yourself comfortable while we wait for the next release to materialize in a couple years time. It appears that you like super-detailing your AC, so 1/18 should be a natural choice for you. There was a Greek guy on the customs forum awhile back who was completely remodelling h...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

Very understandable response Corey. And I am sure many other 1/18 collectors feel this way. Lots of great stuff available in 1/32, and smaller scales. Better quality and detail, and done in metal. Plus the selection is much more vast. The selling point of 1/18 was the size[WOW factor], and t...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

Ok, let's assume TKO’s assessment is correct, the Pegasus X-1 notwithstanding. We're royally FUBAR then. Which is why I don't get the whole "but we should just be so grateful that manufacturers are still around to rob us blind" attitude in this hobby. Being that this is now officially "a rich man's ...

Re: Things are slow in the 1/18 market on retail and manufac

Well, you could always look at it the other way around. I, for instance, have been contemplating purchasing a BBI Sabuko zero, but have not gotten around to it, as I see no reason to collect any additional items with the market (on the manufacturer side, mind you) in the sorry state it's in. I can o...

With Allgo as a partner, and owning the prototype I assume, I see no reason why they wouldn't set it up with Skyworks doing the tweaking of the prototype, getting paid handsomely for their excellent work, and then Allgo taking the ball and running with it for mass production. It just makes sense. O...

A meager $799.99. I guess pricing it at $800.00 was too much.

Very detailed work. Looks fantastic. OTOH, chances are this will cost you a leg and arm. A 10 is a joint venture between All Goo and SkyWorksToys we are using existing 21 Century Toys prototype and reworking it to SkyWorksToys standards there is lots of problem areas where model is not scale to full...

The Merit pictures look good. Too bad you don't do international shipping, since I guess some board members might be interested on this one. Not that I would pay that premium on e-Bay when the regular version is supposed to retail for $300, though. Due to the size of the aircraft and box, i am unabl...

Yeah, well, if prices are going to skyrocket anymore, then maybe collectors should demand that companies pay a little more attention to QC and stop giving them the runaround with non-existing product releases and titty-themed repaints on an otherwise overdone/outdated mold. Most of them, however, wi...

JSI has lost a customer for good here. Merit has lost credibility in my eyes with their handling of the situation. I have one F-14 that required my skills to fix its s****y paintjob. well at least they listened and made corrections, That is worth something to me a lot actually. As a business it would be a logistical nightmare to take back all the F-14s to repaint and re gear them and then mail them back out from china. they would probably go out of business.
