Gear question
JOC, you're right about the main landing gears' tendency to collapse. The problem seems to originate with the alignment of the wheels themselves. As you look at the aircraft from the front, the wheels appeared to be somewhat pigeon-toed, which causes the gears to collapse as you move the aircraft in...

I'll say, buy both as well. It supports the companies that make them; it gives us a chance to compare side-by-side, and more importantly...there are no two identical aircraft.

Now, is it me, or is this thread a lot quieter than I expected it to be? Has anyone else ordered/ received their F-86s? Mine still on the dinning room table, where I can keep a close eye and continue to admire until the wife says is time for it to go "flying".

Todd, While I appreciate the offer very much, I believe you'd probably do better going to e-bay. Stuka was very kind to refer me to an e-bay listing for one, and the highest bid was $85 already. You should be able to fetch at least that much. I'm sorry but I only have one F-16; one of my favorite ai...

question
Assuming that we're unable to secure a better pilot figure for the Admiral Toys F-86, say for example, by repainting an F-104 pilot, how would you go about making your own sculpt?
I do have a possible method, but first would like to know what your thoughts are.

Questions
I'd like to ask the military history buffs and experts here in the forum a couple of questions for which I have no definite answers: 1- During the Korean War, did F-86 pilots have specific helmet colors according to squadron? Or did pilots pick whichever helmet color they wanted? 2-Were pressure sui...

Stv900, I couldn't agree with you more. This issue has been throughly discussed before, so if you look through the threads, you'll find all the related posts. Currently, I'm working on my Eileen P-47, adding an electric motor, lights, and get this...a sound card with pre-recorded radial engine sound...

Yes, Admiral is releasing 100 of these unpainted models (F-86s) soon. I'm hoping that the very tiny "placards" and markings all over the aircraft will be left alone. We'll see.

Has anyone noticed that now they're talking about sometime around the middle of the year?
Personally, I kind of given up on the Avenger idea altogether.

As a former modeler (mostly 1:144 airliners), I'd venture to say that we're talking apples and oranges here. The pleasure of modeling has nothing to do with collecting XD or 1:32. In modeling, one derives the pleasure from the act of putting together, sanding, painting and making the model look as r...

Got my missing stabilizers and screws today. In addition to it, Admiral Toys also sent an extra pilot for me, although I never asked for one. Maybe Jason read my comments about braking my pilot's foot (Wormans Com case??), and kindly decided to send me a replacement. What a great company! Thank you ...

Suggestion
Sorry to place two postings one after the other . I just order two more F-86s from Admiral Toys. One of these is a gift for a very special boy who loves airplanes, and the other will become a custom job for me: FU-735, "Elenore E", flown by Major William T. Whisner of the 25th Fighter Interceptor Sq...

Although space is not a pressing problem for me at this point, the day will come, believe me! Having said that, I'd add that the best thing you can possibly do under the circumstances would be to buy as many of the models you like, and keep them in their box if you have to. But, would you really wan...

Hello Paul
Welcome to the forum Paul. As I've always said, this group is filled with very knowledgable people who love WW-II airplanes and military figures. Personally, I've learned many things from these guys and I've always enjoyed coming here and sharing "war stories" with them. It's a great place to spend ...
