yeah
open engine compartments in 1:18 scale airplanes would be fantastic, more so if they make ground crews and support equipment: GPUs (Ground Power Units), tools, benches, fuel drums, etc.

Ideally, I'd love to have a primed airplane model with different sets of decals, nav lights, electric motor for the prop and realistic radial engine sound. Currently, that's what I'm doing with my B-17 project, although it's a 1:25 scale version. I'm also experimenting with open cowl flaps, but woul...

Cool pics
Great pictures tman. They look very realistic and I love the black and white effect. I'd probably have to wait until the next 'ice age' to take similar pictures here in Miami

Empty shelves
Yesterday I visited two WMs and one TRU here in the Miami area. I was amazed to see the toy shelves almost completely empty of anything, period. I thought they were moving! As for XD and 1:32s, nothing! These stores almost always are very well supplied with all sort of toys, so it really took...

hiya all.
Good catch on the open cowl flaps JimBob, and thanks for the heads-up Vulgarvolture.
It's been such a long wait on the Avenger that I'm begining to dislike the darn thing. As for price, I think it's reasonable to pay something between what we pay for the P-47s and the F-16/18 series.

Thank you Jason once again for taking the time to read our comments and suggestions, and for such a comprehensive answer. Quote please
Pilotman, what are the shipping charges for two 1:18s going to one place and a third 1:18 going to a different address? The two addresses are in Miami, Florida. Also, is there a tax attached to this? Please provide me with a full quote.
Thank you.
Eddie

Thank you John, it is a heck of a website, with tremendous articles on detailing and weathering. I'll be applying some of the techniques discussed in some of my models, just to see how they turn out. As an aside, my wife and I spend a week per year at the Gold Coast Christian Camp in Boynton Beach, ...

I'm with you kevin. Right now my master bedroom and Florida room are both the European and Pacific theathers of operation, respectively. As for my 1:32s, I haven't yet decided whether to display them on a shelve or hang them up in my garage.

An idea
Today I visited the Forum Member area and came upon an idea. Why don't we write a PM to all the inactive members whose anniversary (of joining this forum that is), falls on the date of your search? I actually contacted two members today who have not been active for months, and whose anniversaries we...

Thank you guys. from the pictures it appears that the drop tanks are interchangable with the 109s, as mentioned.

Very good point Timbo. Do you think that we may be able to come up with substitute tanks for this model? Would they be very difficult to make? I do have several WW-II aircrfat reference books, but have been unable to get a very good picture of the Stuka with drop tanks. Any suggestions? Or maybe you...

Welcome
Welcome Tomcat, and a very happy New Year to you as well. As for it being an expensive hobby, I'd say that by comparison, we're not doing too bad if you consider the following points: -If you buy your models at Wal Mart (henceforth WM, Wally World, etc.), you pay an average of $40 per airplane, a si...

Stands
The stand looks nice but I'd prefer displaying my models in the horizontal position. The vertical seems unnatural to me, but I do understand that some of us live in smaller places and space is a serious consideration.

Glue Suggestion
So far, the best, fastest and most reliable glue I've experimented with is the cement used for PVC pipe and sprinkler work, sold at Home Depot. It dries very fast and forms an extremely potent bond between the glued surfaces. Apply it with a small artist's brush, rather than the cotton ball that com...

Ju-87 S2
Nice paint job on this one 21C. For a long time I've been developing a liking for the Ju-87. The more I look at the one flying in my bedroom, the more I like it! At this point I'm not really sure if I'll be getting one. The real estate is getting scarce and must make room for that gorgeous Avenger w...

Suggestion
Dog, you may want to take your airplane to the paint section at Home Depot and have them "scan" the fuselage. After that, they can sell you a pint of that very same color.
In the past, they've been very good about matching colors for me.
Happy New Year and keep the SARs going.

question
Because of computer problems, I could not access the BCA website until yesterday, 12/28/05. I saw the green Zero as "sold out". Can anyone tell me for how long they were available, and when a new batch of models will be available?
